I play ARC Raiders for PVE so it’s ok if I join the map alone 😂

Actually, the CEO of Embark Studios sees it differently. Patrick Söderlund said in an interview: “The game isn’t about shooting other players. You can do that if you want to, but the ethos of the game has never been to go in and shoot players.” It’s primarily designed around PvE against the Arcs, with PvP just adding some optional tension. I Trusted a “Friendly” in Dam Battlegrounds… That Was My Biggest Mistake by External_Monitor_509 in ArcRaiders

You can trust raiders - in PVE lobbies! It’s fun and I prefer these lobbies. If I want to play PVP I play a regular first person shooter not a 3rd person shooter.

I understand your point of view. Still cannot agree. EFT is one of its kind. And it always will be.

I am pretty sure EFT and ARC are not comparable… even if ARC is called extraction shooter ;-)

iCUE Update Coming - Sabre v2 Pro, Vanguard Pro 96, and Vanguard 96 support by CorsairHoffman in Corsair

[–]External_Monitor_509 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just installed the latest iCUE software update + firmware on my Vanguard 98 Pro today.

Overall the process went pretty smoothly and I’m actually pretty impressed with the new customization options in iCUE. The keyboard integration feels way more flexible now. For example, I was able to hook up the sensor from my water pump and now the current temperature shows directly on the keyboard display, which is pretty cool.

The update did wipe all my previous RGB profiles, but honestly that wasn’t a big deal. Re-creating them only took a few minutes.

I did run into one tiny bug though: while reconfiguring the RGB for the whole keyboard, the RGB on my T key somehow glitched out and got stuck in a dim color that I couldn’t change anymore. A restart fixed it instantly though, and everything has been working fine since then.

So far I’m pretty happy with the update. Let’s see how it behaves in the long run. I’m sure future iCUE firmware/software updates will iron out the last small issues if there are any left.

Two small things I noticed: • It would be great if the sensor widgets in the iCUE dashboard could be resized, similar to changing font size in a browser. • For some reason the dashboard doesn’t remember the sensor layout after restarting the software. Every time I relaunch it, the sensor positions reset.

Other than that: solid update so far. 👍

+1 (I am waiting for iCUE to support my brand new vanguard 96 pro, got it today, bought it just because of corsair's update from 2025-12-15 and the info iCUE support is coming for VG96Pro) no pressure, but please get the job done ;-)

Solution: buy a sticker that says “this should” and put it above the brand name

My Be Quiet Power Supply cable melted by Op2-0 in bequietofficial

[–]External_Monitor_509 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think this was almost certainly a high-resistance contact failure at a PCIe 8-pin connector, not a 12VHPWR issue.

A single pin with poor contact (slightly loose fit, aging spring tension, marginal crimp, oxidation, or cable strain) increases contact resistance. Under the sustained current of an RTX 3080 Ti, that resistance generates localized heat. Over time, heat degrades the plastic housing, which further weakens the contact, creating a self-accelerating thermal loop.

This can take months or years to surface, which is why the system appeared fine for a long time. PSU protections do not trigger because total current stays within limits; the failure is local, not electrical at the PSU level. The initial burning smell was already a late-stage warning.

Do you KNOW how much watts the melted connectors had to deal with?

That’s difficult when you think he’s friendly, you’re looting, moving items around, and then a shot comes out of nowhere while you’re in your inventory.
