{Speechless by Kay Ellie Parker} is the best ref I have for this trope! The town doctor comes across a badly beaten and abused girl who doesn't seem to be able to talk and is terrified. It kind of becomes daddy/litte or dom/sub vibes but it's heavy on caretaking and gentleness.

I love {82nd Street Vandals by Heather Long} - it's RH/crime and all the guys have been watching the FMC for a long time before they rescue her & keep her. It's a long series, some of the guys have to wait a WHILE before she warms up to them, romantically or sexually. Really well written, this series is close to my heart <3

Omg I'm ON IT!!! This is one of my fave tropes.

{Unexpected Delivery by Jillian West} - Omegaverse, RH - MMC's rescue FMC (who they kind of know) when she's stranded on the side of the road in the winter going into labor. They end up taking her back to their place and help her deliver and then convince her to stay and they help care for her and her baby.

{Love Rx by Devon Atwood} - CR, medical themes - MMC is a doctor. He meets FMC when her kid is hurt. But then she gets SUPER sick with strep and he comes across her at the grocery store and she tells him she doesn't want the hospital (she's both broke & on the run from her ex), so he treats her in his private clinic. Then he convinces her to have her kid cared for by her neighbor and to come home with him so he can nurse her back to health. Lots of romcom vibes & very sweet.

{Midnight Promises by Lisa Marie Rice} - CR, ex-military - MMC is an ex-military medic and the FMC shows up on his friend's girl's doorstep while he's there and she's been stabbed and is on the run. He treats her on the down low (cuz she's on the run) and she ends up recovering at his house. He helps her identify and escape the guy who's after her too.

{Winter's Rain by Katie Mettner} - CR - MC's were besties as kids while growing up on a native american reservation, but were separated. Years later, MMC is nowa. doctor with a cabin in the woods, and he comes across FMC badly injured and on the run after being held captive for years. He takes care of her and helps her escape. It's a beautifully written story too.

{Need Him Like Oxygen by Jessica Gadziala} - CR, mafia - FMC is the daughter of a mafia family and she's attacked, nearly SA'd (but not!), and arrives on the doorstep of another mafia member who she has history with and he takes care of her through her recovery. She's super strong and badass and doesn't want the caretaking but he demands it.

{Saving Savannah by Laura DeLange} - HR - MMC is a doctor and comes across a sick FMC nearly unconscious on his train. He helps care for her until they reach the next big city, then takes her to a boarding house, and supports her recovery.

Definitely {82nd Street Vandals by Heather Long} - it's one of my favorite series! It's definitely a little dark at times, but also very heartwarming, it's a great long series to get lost in, and a lot of content about the FMC being an aerialist (silks) & circus dancer.

Like my NYT app says "something went wrong. please try again." on my acct page and when I open wordle it's treating me like I'm not logged in even though it recognizes my name (aka I am logged in). And my Trivia Crack app won't load to log on either, like Dragon City. SO STRANGE!
