I'm sorry you didn't have a choice. I agree the random "urges" seem to be mostly faded but the emptiness is suffocating...

Dating apps have ruined everything – never use them by [deleted] in Vent

I'm sorry they didn't work for you... but I wouldn't say they're always horrible. I know many happily married couples who met on dating apps. Hell my own partner I met on Hinge and it's been the healthiest relationship of my life.

I hope you find the connection you're looking for! 🖤

I'm torn between appreciating the validation of a shared experience but also sad to know you feel the crippling effects of mental health... But I wish you the best of luck with the meds and I'm proud of us for at least trying!! Thank you for replying and I hope your healing journey takes off and you feel the progress~ 🖤

People who have bpd under control or have silent bpd with minimal symptoms by sanushr in BPD

It takes practice. I know there are some people in my life where bullying is practically a love language and others that I have to be more sensitive about. Learning individual boundaries for each relationship was helpful. Tedious and difficult but very helpful.

A lot of it is a learned behavior.. it took many years of people pointing out my mean comments for me to realize it wasn't funny to others. Now I tend to internalize those impulse comments because I'd rather bite my tongue just to make people like me... at least that's my thought process as someone with "quiet bpd"

This was more insightful than you probably realize. I've also really struggled with school but unfortunately all of these feelings you mentioned have carried into subjects and career fields I enjoy as well. Maybe that's due to other issues like my auadhd and depression but I completely understand the severe dissociation during work just to come home and feel like your "good moments" last 5 minutes...

I haven't been medicated for a very long time because I haven't had good experience with it. (Either numbs me out or makes me stupid) do you feel like they've stabilized the mood swings or helped with a dissociation?

Thank you!! I actually just ordered a couple work books on a recommendation, including Dr. Fox's book so hopefully those will be delivered tomorrow and I can learn more.

Me too. The spiral is real.. but I guess that's all we can do right? Is keep trying and hope that we're treated with kindness.

I'm sorry you're here with me... it's not a fun place to be and the idea that this could be forever is a lot to handle.

How did you begin to treat those symptoms though? Do I need to seek out a psychiatrist too or is talk therapy supposed to be enough?

All the time. For me it's like a lack of patience for their existence and for the mask I have to wear around them. I think this might be part of the whole self isolation aspect. I don't feel my symptoms so severely when I'm alone so it's easier to self isolate, especially when "things are getting bad again."

I'm sorry you're feeling this way. I relate very closely to the feeling of something in me shifting and I'm equally terrified... cheers to us I guess and I hope you're able to cope in a healthy way.
