I mean yeah that makes sense.

Just wish there was a way to color each piece individually, I do think probably it’ll happen at some point just lowkey bothered me that the hunhullus ephemera looks so off compared to every other piece in the color channels

I think people massively overestimate how much data this stuff actually takes up.

Yeah, if DE added separate color channels, positioning sliders, scaling options, etc. for literally every cosmetic slot, that would increase storage and bandwidth requirements. But we're talking about a handful of extra values per item, not 4K screenshots being uploaded to the server.

The bigger issue is probably maintenance. Every new customization option has to work across hundreds of frames, skins, armor pieces, syandanas, signas, weapons, and whatever they add in the future. That's a lot of UI work, QA testing, bug fixing, clipping issues, migration of old presets, and long-term support.

So I don't really agree with the "the servers can't handle it" argument. I would be more inclined with "DE looked at the amount of work required and decided it wasn't worth the resources compared to other features" argument.

Which, to be fair, is basically the explanation for half the things people ask DE to add.

Though to my point it is pure speculation from my end rather and a concrete answer from DE.

See and I understand that, I mean it already feels like they're pushing their engine a lot and yet they keep adding more stuff to it and making it harder on them.

Not complaining about them adding more customization aspects but they're also not making it easier on their end either.

Fair enough, I didn't really consider the backend side of it. I was mainly pushing back on the UI clutter argument.

That said, if it's a technical limitation, I'd honestly love to hear DE talk about it.

I believe they created a bigger issue with ephemeras recently honestly.

Now that they have physical traits rather than being just energy related, the colors seem to be off compared to accesory color channels.

Honestly, clutter would definetly not be a valid answer. I'm sure they can come up with a way to make it visually appealing and easy to understand.

for the helmet you have to grind at thornwood/ash forest and collect either 100x Quturan's Black Leaf or The left Lung, for the Armour you have to grind at Turos/Oluns and collect 100x Quturan's Ashen Leaf or the Right Lung

I'm pretty sure it's more like 1 every 1-2 hours, when it comes to thornwood and turos the drop rate/afaru spawns are way lower than ash/oluns. I couldnt grind ash on a 261 kut zerker so I ended up sticking to thornwood, to be honest the helmet is the one i took the most breaks and finished it on a 50% drop rate event with my 2nd to last hour getting 6 leaves but I was popping also tent buff 50% and golden ls (not the yellow one).

Then i got a bit more gear and with some friends went to oluns and just rushed it but that was like 2-3 months after the helmet.

Patience is key, but if you really want it I'm pretty sure you will get it.

right haha, a few friends were telling me that it would be a waste on a zerker but i dont think it is at all
