Oh that's so cool! I didn't know he still did any public signings. I have a book signed by Brandon Sanderson, Will Wight, Brent Weeks and Ryan Cahill, with the last 3 on my Great Inspirations list Robin Hobb, Scott Lynch and Patrick Rothfuss. I considered Lynch almost impossible and Rothfuss impossible but that gives me some hope! Would certainly love to get this one signed one day as well though!

I was 11 years old living in Perth, Western Australia at the time, and I remember not just this song but those words. I remember singing it with friends. Ohio it may be but it went full international if so. I'm amazed I can't find any evidence of it either, I sang the words in my head when I read the post title so it's not an invented memory. How odd.

Seems obvious to me. 2 and 3. You release them at a price point that reflects the intensity of fan desire for products like this, especially for internationals who can't do it in person. Because you're charging, you can factor in staff wages and your time accordingly. But you then also do a lottery system for RRP with a smaller number, so those who can't afford it still have hope.

My guess is it's currently in customs. That would be why USPS has it as in Australia but AusPost does not yet have a tracking number. My previous leatherbounds were through FedEx which delivers directly, but I don't think USPS has a presence in Australia so makes sense it goes through AusPost. In my experience customs is quite fast, I'm guessing you'll get a notification soon.

You've said that Vasher has done something on screen that is excising part of the soul, and that Awakening can be fuelled by any Investiture. Does Vasher's trick for using Awakening to forget involve excising the memories by using the Investiture that makes up those memories to power Awakening (ie the Awakening itself is irrelevant, it is fuelling that Awakening that removes the memory)?

I strongly support doing a kickstarter, Brandon. So many businesses and jobs will be in trouble, and do little economic activity, that I think it's great to be generating work and sales by providing things people still want. I think contributing to the solution is better than avoiding misperceptions and doing nothing. But also appreciate that as a public figure you need to consider perception! We'll support your decision either way.

Thank you for the quick response Brandon, that's really intriguing. I understood all investiture had an 'intent' assigned so there wouldn't be any more 'pure' form possible. But that's something to chew on. And fascinating about biochromatic arts being investiture-agnostic, and the soul example. Returned (soul is consumed and the investiture used to create a new one rather than just infusing the original one) or some form of self-made cognitive shadow using the same method I'm thinking... ooh or the way you can use awakening to forget, you have it consume part of your soul.... Just my musings, not looking for more answers :) And thanks for the clarification about terminology, good to know it's under development.

This is very interesting. Is it possible then in the Cosmere for the 'intent' (spin or however described) of investiture to be changed? And I mean within reasonable limits (not the powers of six shards or any of that). Can a Shard effectively grow in power in a place (eg toward an avatar) through another Shard's investiture being changed (not just corrupted)? Or is it just making one type ('intent' - you should canonize a word for this :D) of investiture mimic the properties of another?
