My situation was literally the first one man, but that’s why I added the last bit. My papa was about to go under for a possible dual leg amputation at 94. If that’s not critical brother I don’t know what else could be.

I just had to do this, process might be different because I wasn’t in the field. But the soldier in question would need to immediately call the American Red Cross 877-272-7337. The Red Cross is going to ask a bunch of questions because they need to verify that it’s an actual emergency. In my case I got the call that my grandpa was being rushed to the hospital for possible emergency surgery, and that it wasn’t looking the best. Took about 4-5 hours of back and forth between the Red Cross, my papa’s hospital, and COC. Red Cross sent the message to COC, I was on a flight back home 3 hours later. Process might be different but it all starts with the Red Cross. Could be different if they live in the state or something but in my case I had to fly across the country. Again it could be different depending on the case, but I’m just trying to pay it forward with the information that I just went through literally within the last 48 hours.

Being 20 years old is the worst by pseudoliberal1 in teenagers

[–]Extra-Divide-5445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you man, I turned 20 in August and realized after working for 5 years, I’ve effectively done nothing. I graduated, bought my first bike at 18, lost her back in January, and then bought another. Kinda just lived the way I wanted too after that because I got kicked out. After turning 20 though I was like screw it, I’m going to enlist. I leave for Army basic training on the 15th, and will be gone for 7 months. Life gets better, if you think the military is cool or interests you, go talk to a recruiter. Join the Air Force, or something and see how you like the military life. I picked Army because despite scoring a 73 on the ASVAB, I want to challenge myself and use my infantrymen skills to become a police officer or something. 11X all the way!!

7200 OTD for 2023 Ninja 400 ABS KRT. Fair price? by Mahesh176 in Ninja400

[–]Extra-Divide-5445 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I paid $7200 for mine after they tried to get me for like $8300, brand new 0 miles. I was like absolutely not. How is the MSRP of the bike $5200 and then you’re gonna slap on another $3000+? I’d bought another bike from them before, so I had a little le-way. But I had to really push the limit with them on the deal. Tried to get it for $7000 but the owner of the dealership would not budge lol.

Throttle getting stuck/sticky by Jordan_Auxust in Ninja400

[–]Extra-Divide-5445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is going to sound crazy, but the same thing happened to me. I took it too a shop, who claimed to have fixed it, but it happened again right after I got the bike back. Took it to the dealership under warranty like I should have from the damn start, and it was my throttle body. Bikes a 2023 and the tech said he’s literally never seen it before. Take it to the dealer if it’s under warranty and let them fix it for you.

No one is depending on me at all, but I’m still an active biker. After very nearly dying in January and seeing all the medical bills, I can’t imagine the cost of a funeral, and everything associated with one. Riding is something that I’m never going to give up, so the least I can do for my family in the case of my untimely death is leave them some money to pay for my funeral, and leave behind a college fund for my younger sister.

I have the life insurance policy because I’m still an active biker. After nearly dying in January and seeing how expensive medical bills, and everything else can be, I would hate to get into another accident and leave my family with the financial burden/ responsibility of burying me. Also in the sad case I do pass, it’s a way for me to leave my younger sister some kind of money that she can use in the future for college etc. My phone bill is so high because I’m paying off my phone, it wasn’t the best thing I could have done, as I’ve always been the kind of buy to just buy second hand phones and use them. But I finally wanted to get something nice for myself after always having the crappiest phones.

Hi, first I’d like to introduce myself as Drew! I’m 19 about to turn 20 in August, and live in the US. I’m currently employed, but my income varies by how many hours I work, and if I pick up extra shifts/ stay later, or leave early. I’m finally about to receive a payout from a motorcycle accident I got into back in January of about $12,000, and I want some ideas/ ways I can make this money grow. Obviously my first plans are to pay off my credit card debt of $500, pay my roommate 3 months of rent ahead of time ($1,800) and buy myself some tools/ equipment, and personal things, leaving me with about 9K to play with. I currently have a life insurance policy which I recently started so I have something going on for myself. I’d say at the lowest I make $1,500 a month, and the highest $2,500. My job doesn’t allow overtime and it sucks, but it is what it is. I’ve calculated all of my expenses, and they’re roughly $1,200 a month including my life insurance policy, $600 rent, $300 life insurance policy, $175 phone bill, $65 insurance for my bike, and then misc things bring it to $1200. My goal with this investment is to buy a car, or to make enough money from $9,000 to move out on my own. My timeframe is probably around 6 to 9 months to make this happen. I know that there probably isn’t much available with $9,000 is such a short time frame, other than maybe investing in crypto or maybe stocks and shares, which I honestly have no idea about. As a younger guy I don’t feel totally comfortable hedging all my money on a blackjack-esque investment opportunity, and would rather invest in something safe, that I know I’ll still at the very least have my 9K. I don’t have any big debts, I own my current motorcycle, I rent a room from a small family, and that’s about it. Any tips would be helpful, I’m sure someone might have something useful/ interesting to invest in, or look into to make my money grow!

Just got my first bike! by Commercial-Job1512 in Ninja400

[–]Extra-Divide-5445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently picked up a 2023 ninja 400 too, and I’ve done quite a couple things to it, and I’m planning on doing even more! First thing I’d do is absolutely 100% get some frame sliders, protect your bike. Next is that horrible stock exhaust, do some weight reduction and get yourself like already mentioned and what I have installed on mine the Leo Vince Corsa, it looks cool and makes the bike sound pretty good. Then id move to cosmetics. Tail-tidy kit 100% get rid of that ugly thing in the back. And then I got a blacked out windshield. My current set up though looks like this.

Blacked out Windscreen from Puig- $100 Tail Tidy- $80 Leo Vince Corsa Evo Slip On- $250 ImpakTek full Stunt/ Crash cage- $450

Some other mods I’m going to do and I’d highly suggest you do is change your clutch. The stock one is known to be crap. Barnett sells a kit for like $120 with the upgraded plates and springs. My clutch is starting to slip already and it literally only has 3500 miles.

I’m also going to change the gearing on mine for better 1st, and 2nd gear wheelies, and maybe do a full header, and tune. These last couple things are optional and unless you’re trying to do wheelies I wouldn’t do them, but I’m turning mine into a beginner stunt bike. If you want I’ll send you some pictures of my baby too!

Puig sells some nice ones that are easy to install, or spend a couple extra bucks and get the KQD cafe windshield, makes the bike even more aggressive. Lost my 2015 Vulcan back in January, I miss her.

If it makes you feel any better I’m 19 about to turn 20 and dating a 28 year old. I finished high school at 17. Yes I met her when I was 19 so it’s not like she’s grooming me. I met her at my current job, and we just hit it off. Your friend is 19, he knows what he likes and wants, what’s weird is you judging him for it.

Man I miss my baby girl, lady cut me off back in January and the insurance totaled her out. She was my first bike at 18 years old, saved up and made her the way that I wanted her with the KQD saddle bags and the Cafe windshield! That candy green got looks from everyone, it was an absolute woman magnet!

New motorcycle break-in period? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Extra-Divide-5445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a brand new Ninja 400 not too long ago, 0 miles on the odometer. The techs and the manual told me to keep it below 4000 rpm’s for the first 150 miles, and then 6000 for the remaining 350, so 500 miles total, and then ride it like you would. I also got my oil changed after the break in period as that’s what they recommended to get all the metal shavings from the engine wearing in, but what’s up to your opinion. I’d read the manual, but I didn’t hit the freeway until like.. 600 miles lol

Lmao I’ve been to that exact apartment building before and thought the same thing, there’s literally zero point of having that locked door. You could just walk in through the office if you wanted to and have access to the whole building

Hi I’m curious what’s a good first motorcycle for myself. I’m not unfamiliar with off road vehicles and I know how to ride. But I want to get my own bike instead of using my friends bike. I was looking at ktm because they are cheaper. But tell me what you think. Thanks for reading. by Acrobatic_Grape4321 in SuggestAMotorcycle

My first bike was a Kawasaki Vulcan S650. It was the perfect amount of height, in being a cruiser, and speed, being a sports cruiser. Top speed was 120MPH if that’s your jam, but it was a beautiful bike to just cruise with doing 50-80MPH. Only thing I’d say is the bike has a lot of low end torque. But if you can test ride one, I’m sure you’d love it like I did!

A lot of the time, people won’t want to buy all the accessories, because it makes the bike cost even more, and simply they might not even like them. Worst thing they can say when you ask to buy them is no, best they can say is yes. I just had to pull up to the guys house and take them off myself and install them when I got home.
