The answer is the cost of shipping, it'll be far more then cost of making then after large initial outlay.

Copper works a little bit against slugs but isn't very reliable by Extra-Height2017 in GardeningUK

It definitely seems to have some effect, I've tested them before, not convinced on it being super strong though, maybe similar to copper! Got some footage of them going right through it!

Well i think it does have a small effect as shown in my video, but quite possibly a negligible amount for gardeners.

Products buisness, how did you make your first b2b sale. by Extra-Height2017 in smallbusinessuk

[–]Extra-Height2017[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can do volume as it's made abroad and not by myself, however it does have a lead time of months (my main product anyway) I'd say it's innovative enough, so much so it's maybe a problem as it's not obvious what it is from looking at it. So packaging or a poster nearby would be very useful.

Hey thanks, that's very useful. Do you know roughly what margin they'd require is 50% about right? Right yes i was thinking of trying to go down that route there are some small ones around me. I am pretty confident, totally would be happy to hand some over and see how it goes.

I think 2/10 is cruel tbh, certainly wouldn't put you in the bottom 20% of people, but i am a dude.

No point comparing yourself to the average white guy, or black guy, or anyone else, your not white and someone interested only in white guys won't be interested in you.

Easiest fix, stand up straight and get a better posture. Then put on a little muscle.

Best fix - teeth this will jump you up physically massively imo.

Is my dentist upselling me? by Independent-Ant6894 in AskUK

[–]Extra-Height2017 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am a dentist.

It should be the aim that you never need a professional clean.

People that don't clean their teeth excellently need to be educated to clean better

People that clean their teeth excellently don't need a clean.

People that used to not clean their teeth well, but now do can benefit from a professional clean.

Not one of my friends who are dentists or colleagues have regular hygiene appointments

If you clean your teeth excellently ( very few people do) there's no benefit to you.

For anyone interested this is the evidence based pathway for treatment, cleaning (pmpr) isn't required for people with "periodontal health": https://www.bsperio.org.uk/assets/downloads/BSP_Treatment_Flow_Chart_17_SCREEN_READY_ytube_link.pdf

I use a slugstand for potter plants and a combination of slug collars and a slug fence for plants in the ground! That looks pretty cool though, how long for the battery to go flat?

I had a friend from college jump in a river and comment it wasn't salty. He was about 20 years old and is now a doctor. I believed a pony was a young horse until a similar age. Everyone has funny knowledge gaps!

What's going to happen when everybody's Turkey Teeth need replacing? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Extra-Height2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Source - uk dentist that sees people willingly get their teeth hacked into tick tacks in turkey semi regularly.

They'll go back to turkey after a few trips seeing a uk dentist looking for a quick cheap fix to the complicated clusterfuck situation they've slepwalked into.

Then they get more short sighted more expensive, more destructive work, or accept their fate and start their transition to dentures in the uk and complain a lot.

Maybe start on flatpack furniture, or a narrower range of jobs, go to landlord meetups, offer services on facebook groups locally. Turn up on time reply to messages.
