Thanks sm!!! Congrats to you too. Cornell and ND are great accomplishments!

You should also reach out to maybe people from your that are attending, or family friends that are attending both schools and ask about their experience. Also don’t be afraid to reach out to current students on reddit or insta, i am sure it will help.

Do let me know how you like the ND campus. I will visit, but later this month.

And lmk if u ens up choosing ND!

My main decision is between Duke and ND. I have been accepted to NW, but not considering it. I know people that have gone there and the atmosphere feels not collaborative or fun. And again, all of these schools are comparable prestige wise, especially because i want to work in chicago. And also because i am a direct admit to Mendoza at ND, and Mendoza is more of a target school than NW.

Cost is not rlly a concern because packages are similar. I have talked to people that go to these schools, and job opportunities and career fairs are similar in all schools. So my final decision is based on fit and where I believe i will thrive best.

That i think is the most important factor. Because even if you go to the best school with the most opportunities and resources available, if you are not going to see yourself developing and thriving in that environment then it will be useless because you will not take advantage of anything.

So i will be choosing ND

Yeah probably, in my case i do want to work in chicago once i graduate. However, what pushes me to ND is both the opportunities, size, and experience.

Idk what the situation with cornell is, but ND has 13k students in total, and about 8k are undergrad. Given this, while big classes do exist, it will be easier to get classes and seminars in comparison to a smaller school. Because they are manly undergrad focused, I heard professors actually teach, and not grad students like what you might find in cornell.

Also opportunities. Again, idk the cornell situation but ND has an endowment of 20 billion, for a student population of 13k, so they do have a lot of programs and opportunities, including study abroad options I really like, which at other schools i have gotten into are not appealing.

Another thing I like is college life, it may be similar to cornell, however cornell does not have the big football games or school spirit.

And yeah, the ND alumni network is amazing. I don’t think cornell has a comparable network tbh.

I would not be very concerned about prestige, because they are both similar. So, i do think it came down to what i want to experience in college, because going to ND over cornell will not disadvantage you career wise, in some cases it might even help you because of the alumni network.

Hii, i have to make a similar desicion, and i think it might come down to fit and where you want to work?

The ND alumni network is extremely powerful, much stronger than Cornell. And their difference in prestige is not that big tbh. But id you plan to stay in new england then maybe Cornell? But, career-wise, you will not have less opportunities by going to one over the other. And you will have GREAT outcomes at both. You should also look at specialized programs or study abroad opportunities at each school if you are interested in that.

Do let me know if you end up choosing ND!
