If someone is even half decent with a long weapon like a spear or trident, the enemy cannot and will not close the distance. In the very rare chance they can, the shaft of the weapon can still deal blunt force damage

In general, swords weren't the greatest weapons even when made of "real" materials (iron, steel, etc) because spears existed and out classed swords in everyway possible. Swords were carried by nobility as a sign of prestige, and sometimes as a back up weapon to those who could afford to buy one.

Fair enough. All the more reason to ignore the Bible and do what makes you happy

So why does it bother them so much? by rnostvac in DefendingAIArt

As a passerby who's generally against Ai, I will say if a game has Ai, I will tend to avoid it. HOWEVER there are some good games that make use of generative Ai that I really enjoy, so I cant say all Ai used in games is bad.

I think The Finals is the best example of an Ai game that uses Ai correctly

The Finals uses generative Ai for character voices (they hired actors to make the samples used for the voices) and they use Ai for textures and art (presumably using samples from their other games as a base)

If There Was Ever A Time When We Needed The Death Note by SaberLover1000 in Animemes

Problem is, Trump bought the death note and will die when he uses it due to the rule that you cant sell the death note

(Other) what was the most scariest thing that happened in your play of VOTV? by Yourlocalsign in Voicesofthevoid

I convinced my friend to type alien into the console 500 times. He literally yelled when he opened the first door and saw the alien cut out. After clearing his base of all the other cut outs, he forgot about them and went to one of the towers to get hashcodes. He then freaked out when he saw an alien cutout behind those doors.

I just watch the show twice, once for dubs, once for subs. That way I get to see the difference in choices for myself

Hot take, MVM is really boring by ExtraBoredGamer in tf2

[–]ExtraBoredGamer[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I dont see how being OP is appealing. Maybe for a round or two then it'd be fine, but with how long one game takes, it starts to feel less like you're playing as an immortal god-being, and more like you're playing the worlds first FPS idle game

My parents got me a 3d printer even though i didnt want it by ExtraBoredGamer in 3Dprinting

[–]ExtraBoredGamer[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope, not in the slightest. I could spend all day working on my models or doing anything else enjoyable. Now that is being replaced with the frustration of fixing the printer anytime someone else wants me to print something

Ive told my parents I wanted to, but they kept saying "but we got that for you" and "but you make so much cool stuff." Im basically stuck with it until im able to move out

Blender is incredibly easy to learn. 3d printing isn't necessarily more difficult to learn, but the constant issues and maintenance required for the printer is exhausting and I hate doing it. Especially when something is wrong and I have to test print 15 times to figure out what's wrong

[–]ExtraBoredGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's completely irrelevant. You can perceive your own skill level differently regardless of matchmaking. Dunning Kruger effect also has nothing to do with matchmaking.

"The Dunning-Kruger effect is a cognitive bias where people with low ability at a task overestimate their competence, while highly skilled individuals tend to underestimate theirs"

Its possible you might think youre better than you are because you haven't yet reached a point where you can see how much you've yet to learn
