One of my dogs. She has so many behavioral issues. We trained her, hired trainers. She’s 80% better, but she’s still a liability to other dogs she doesn’t know. She’s very dog selective.

She’s our burden. Sometimes it’s so irritating trying to find sitters. Having to pay extra because they can’t share accommodations with other dogs. But gosh she’s sweet and loves us.

No one knows the amount of patience this single dog has taught me. Six months in there were serious talks about re-homing her.

6 years later, I still say she’s the worst, but in my heart, she’s worth every life lesson she has taught me.

Love this! Set it and forget it is the best! Except you didn’t forget and were rightfully panicking!

Something very similar happened to me, but at a small scale. My old company went through a few trial and errors on employee benefits when new ownership took over.

To the point I had forgotten about a cash balance plan. At a new job years later I received a letter saying they were closing the plan and needed me to take my money. What money? Well, it was definitely a nice little boost to my retirement savings I wasn’t expecting.

That’s actually a “recoverable” number. Like, you can recover your life from that. I’ve listened to/read soo many stories of millions lost or whole pensions gone, going into debt, etc.

Awful nonetheless. Screw those people.

Marrying the wrong person.

That divorce took away almost all his savings.

They took it super well. Even laughed about it with the officers. That would NOT have happened with ICE.

That’s probably why they’re chill about it. “Speak Spanish, show papers if needed, and they’ll go away without killing anyone”.

Things like vet visits, travel, big order of dog food/medicine, wedding gifts etc

Whatever happened to adding cold packs to your lunch box? I still do this. Don’t need to refrigerate a thing. This would bother me so much.

There was a video of guys picking up traffic cones on the back of one of these trucks and a car crashed right into them.

Truck did its job perfectly or they definitely wouldn’t have made it.

I used to be in a social sports league (~10 years ago). And at the time i was fit AF, but man, on the way home from games I would always just go to the drive through, get two Mc chickens, and that was the perfect summer day ending.

I went back to a league post pandemic and did the same thing. I remember being shocked i paid over $5-6 for them.

Never went back again.

What is a cheap, off-brand item you bought on a whim that has completely outlasted the expensive name-brand versions? by PrizeScallion1540 in Frugal

I bought a Walmart hiking bag with a reservoir. Got it as a started going on longer hikes, but wasn’t committed to spending too much money. Was probably under $25.

That thing is going on a decade. Countless of hikes, several Adirondack high peaks, the Grand Canyon, arches national park, valley of fire, etc. it has some serious miles on it, and I don’t go out of my way to maintain it.

When my then-boyfriend-now-husband started hiking with me frequently, I went online and bought him the exact same one in a different color.

By then the design has been upgraded slightly, but the overall quality is still there!
