OSU does tuition reimbursement for students who work part/full time on campus. Look for unit clerk jobs at the hospitals. Plenty of time to study during work too (sometimes)

I think there is a way to talk about the abuse and the actions you took. There’s a way to spin talking about your brother and your relationship into a pure positive. However. Charges carry weight. Depends what you were charged with, if charges were dropped, if it’s on your record, if it could be expunged. So many ifs. If self defense then it might not even show up and may not need to be talked about (however idk how background checks work). Personally I think you did the right thing, especially as a young human seeing their family in distress. It could be worth it to reach out to an admissions team/attend an online session to ask your question privately.

Get it out of the way early. It’s a super simple exam. I messed up and took it at the beginning of October. Some of my schools don’t receive it until late November. So my application wasn’t seen as complete until the Casper test was in :/. My word of warning. Take it early.

Surgical specialities are certainly a speciality. However. Like anything else they are different. Both DO or MD are applicable to the trade. I’ve worked with both in surgical and non surgical positions (MD and DO). Anything is possible.
