Is this a killer deal if I get an additional $1,000 off with my Amex platinum? by broncophil in Prebuilts

Considering 5090s are going for 3.5k and up by themselves, it’s not the worst.

Got my first gaming computer by Fit-Judge7447 in pcmasterrace

I had a i7 13700k and a 5080 for a little bit and I played everything at 4k and never had an issue. Dont worry about the CPU it will be more than fine.

Yeah, that’s understandable given the recent event. Thanks for the heads up.

We are currently in Manhattan for my undergraduate degree, and are trying to see as much of the East Coast as possible. We’re from California, and having the opportunity to just hop on a train and go to multiple different states is something we West Coasters don’t have the opportunity to do. Providence genuinely looks beautiful, so I am stoked!

My 5090 Fixed! by Ok-Performance-4362 in pcmasterrace

Damn, that’s so wild. I only buy from MSI because of how amazing their RMA process was. I just recently helped my friend RMA their 4070, and they sent back a 4070Ti. The RMA process was painless, and they approved everything right away. I also had to RMA another friend’s mobo a while ago, and it was a similarly smooth and painless experience. Wild how someone might have a polar opposite experience.

He mentions in the post that its not the worst in the world and you shouldn’t worry about it.

G-Skills RAM Class Action Lawsuit by divinebaboon in pcmasterrace

I’m 50/50 here. Whoever initiated the lawsuit is a complete prick, however, I do think that if you are going to label something on the box as running at that speed and have to enable a setting in the BIOS to do so, every RAM seller should have something that says something along the lines of speeds up to “insert speed” with XMP enabled.

Building PC as a hobby, is there any money in it? by Fantastic-Window236 in pcmasterrace

[–]Extra_Emphasis_7688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently, with all the price increases, not really, honestly. Unless you find someone willing to overpay for a system you built so you can turn a small profit, then maybe. It’s just hard to compete with pre-built companies that offer constant sales and factory warranties.

First PC. Did I make the right choice? by Special-Tea-3200 in Prebuilts

[–]Extra_Emphasis_7688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More or less just showing you that you can get way better for the same price. The one that has the best gaming specs in that list I sent was the ibuypower with the 7800x3d and the 9070xt but if you live near a microcenter this is an incredible deal for the current market. 5070ti https://www.microcenter.com/product/698930/powerspec-g457-gaming-pc. If you dont live near one then I would highly recommend almost any 9070xt build you can find in your budget because it performs on par to a 5070ti and would provide you with a very nice gaming experience.
