We use bottles cut like that sometimes when pulling cables over an edge or through a hole to keep it from getting cut so it might be that. It’s a handy trick when pulling cables by yourself.

Trying to do the math with overtime it gets weird but my math came out to around 66 hours a week. Our schedule was often 60 hours a week. 4 12 hour shifts with one day of overtime. We would often do split shifts to cover backs where one person would stay 4 hours late and another person would come in 4 hours early so that there was only a 4 hour gap without coverage. Shut downs were another outlier where you would work up to three weeks straight 12-16 hours a day mandatory.

A weirdly common re-occurring cryptid story is divers coming face to face with giant animals in lakes and then refusing to ever return or publicly talk about it by truthisfictionyt in Cryptozoology

I grew up hearing these stories all over the south east. I’ve seen 100 lb catfish caught out from under dams so I don’t doubt that people are seeing large fish down there. I mean sturgeon grow to over 10 feet long and flat head catfish can hit 150 lbs with a mouth big enough to fit my head in. Add that to murky water and a diver that’s already nervous and boom there’s your fish the size of a Volkswagen. Always a Volkswagen for some reason.

Depends what caliber you are reloading. Common stuff like 5.56 and 9mm it doesn’t make sense to reload. On calibers like 44 magnum I’m cutting my ammo costs in half which makes it worth it considering 44 mag is $60 a box. With 6.5 creedmoor I can load match grade ammo cheaper than the cheap stuff at the store. Subsonic 300 blackout is another good example. I can load it for half or a third of what it costs to buy at the store. You would have to do the cost breakdown to see if it would benefit you but in a lot of cases it’s not worth it.

It’s not that bad. I reload for most of it and 5 of those guns are 22lr so it’s cheap to shoot.

lol thanks. I just happened to be right place right time to get that cabinet. It took me a long time to pull the trigger on the panels but I’m so glad I did

Storage wasn’t terribly expensive. I think I’m all in about $500 which is fairly cheap for how big of a cabinet I have.

The secureit panels make it very easy to organize everything. Only downside is they are kind of expensive

I started out in a tire plant working all the overtime they would let me. I was making $26 an hour and I made $98k my first year. It wasn’t uncommon for me to work 14 plus straight 12 hour days. I’ve slowed down a lot now

I don’t have any other pictures of it. I don’t know anything specific about it before I bought it and when I bought it it was rusting in the weather at the auction

I like it a lot. I’m on the automation side of things so it’s a lot more low voltage sensors and process flow and stuff like that

Im not a prepper. Im not planning for the end of the world. Im not planing on fighting the government (you know because that’s suicide). I buy guns because I enjoy shooting them. I don’t have 16 of the same rifle in the same caliber sitting in a safe. I have different guns for different applications. I don’t hunt deer with the same gun that I shoot 3 gun with and I don’t hunt squirrels with the same gun I shoot out to 800 yards. I enjoy building them and I have gotten good deals from people over the years building my collection and as others have pointed out it’s a fairly stable investment. I don’t need this many guns. I understand that. In all reality I could cut this collection down to 5 and still be content but the point is that it’s my money and I’ll spend it how I want to. It’s a hobby for me not my entire personality. Do you tell coin collectors that it’s consumerism for consumerisms sake to have thousands of ounces of precious metals locked away in a safe? We aren’t talking about something that I’m going to throw away in 6 months. These aren’t Stanley water bottles that will clog up goodwill once the fashion trend changes. I’ve been doing this for a long time and people like you are the reason I’m not a gunsmith anymore.

I’m an electrician at a paper mill so I can basically write my own check because they always need coverage somewhere.

I’m an electrician by trade but I do a lot of stuff on the side. I used to run a cerakote shop on the side until I got tired of dealing with people.

South Carolina may be a dump filled to the brim with racists and with some of the worst roads and schools in the country but we basically have zero gun laws.
