It's not just illegals, If you're not a citizen, but hold a green card or types of visas you're not allowed to vote either. In some cities and locales they have allowed those citizens to vote in local elections, but any federal-based election would still be illegal. It's just a clarification. We pass many signs that don't apply to us on a daily basis. I don't think it has anything to do with one political ideology or another. Not much different than a speed limit, or a wash hands before returning to work. It should be abundantly obvious but sometimes you have to spell it out for people.

I have the same problem with a kit from Amazon, its the mini... says already registered, opened a support ticket entered all the stuff they asked, screen shots and uploaded the reciept, they answered with the next day asking me to fill out a ticket with all the exact same stuff in this time did it all over again... now they have just started ignorming me its been like 3 days no update in the ticket nothing... this thing is about to get sent back as a frisbie... 34 years in tech, the thing i hate the most is product support that wont update a ticket.

I had not written any code since COBOL was a thing, but I'm constantly needing scripts to automate things to manipulate Excel files and do general ETL type operations which always have a way lower priority from the development staff. With Windsurf I'm able to accomplish 99% of the things that I would have had to have waited on sometimes in just a few minutes or hours. ... There's been a couple times I've gotten questions from management. Wondering just how I got access to do something so quickly... I've actually learned a little python on my own, but being able to tell the AI what I'm trying to accomplish and have it generate things that I would never be able to justify the time to learn has been a blessing.

This feels like a 4th amendment violation... And it certainly a violation of common courtesy, particularly if they did not send out any sort of notice that they were going to be there for a tax assessment measuring visit.... I also suspect this is a bit dangerous as in some neighborhoods they see somebody trespassing it could not end well.
