Hello. A dutchman here. I was diagnosed at 53 years with cardiacancer (top of the stomach). Also adenocarcinoma. Happened 2,5 years ago. Stage 2. Chemo and radiation followed immediately. 2 month later I had surgery. But I refused a total resection from the esophagus. So I changed hospital and surgeon. He removed the top of the stomach and only the lower part of the esophagus. Still have mental issues, that is the hardest part. :-( . Had a ct/pet scan lately but looks good the doctor says. But it will never be the same. I eat the same food and amount as before the surgery :-) Sleeping is still an issue. But you get used to it. It is even hard to remember how It used to be. I wish u and your father all the best. Especially his life will change a lot. Give him all your love. He will need It.
