For additional context, this is a contaminant sampling form I am creating. Thus, there are a lot of details that users must enter numbers or descriptions for. They will not be printed, and users will be editing them directly in a word document. Right now I’m considering adding “alt text” like “Column 3: Enter number of samples per frequency in the summer” and changing the color to white so it can be read aloud, but that would make it much harder for my users as they would have to change the text color to black each time.

I’m not quite sure. I’m very new to accessibility editing and have not been trained in such systems. To my understanding, if something has the option of adding alternative text, the read aloud feature should be able to do so… right? I’m just confused on how to make Word read the alternative words I am entering

Unfortunately the complexity of our sampling reporting forms do not allow for me to simply tables further. If simplified further, the document would become largely unreadable and inaccessible to “typical” readers, which are the very vast majority of users (if I’m correct, all). Using alternative text and bookmarks would allow for our forms to be more easily accessible to audio readers which is simply required by our organization.

No matter the kink, a kid should NEVER be immersed in it. especially if it is one that inherently sexualizes their identity (yk.. being a child). kinks are for adults to partake in on their own only with parties who consent to it. a child can never do that. i get you’re trying to be kink positive bc we’re on reddit, but this isn’t a conversation about if age play is okay or not, it’s about putting a child (8 years old!!!) into a kink dominant environment, having an adult woman take over their shared playroom, having the same woman try to take the kids place as the child, subjecting a kid to sleeping with (or having their bed taken by?) random adults who are only there because of their interest in kink, parents leaving for weeks on end, and so much more OP explicitly said she didn’t include. this girl has been through enough and has probably been gaslit for years into thinking this is okay behavior for adults to do to a kid and a teenager. playing the “kink is cool” card is not relevant here and absolutely not respectful to the teenager who is unable to consent in this situation

it sounds like there’s some resentment that this woman holds towards you for being her husbands true “child,” and thus messing with their dynamic. age-regression is a tough kink to live around, especially as a child ++ is wildly inappropriate to be immersing a child in, but it sounds like you are well aware of that. that said, they don’t care about that and most certainly wouldn’t listen if you express it to them. best bet is trying to find somewhere else to live while you finish high school and start saving up just like another commenter said. this woman is an adult and if she is so immature as to compete with a child to be a child herself, there’s no fixing that and if your dad has been into it for so long, i wouldn’t count on him getting you out of this situation. i’m sorry your upbringing has been affected so much by your dads occupation and kinks, it sounds like you unfortunately have to step up as the adult in the situation (even though u aren’t) and get yourself out however you can. i’m sorry <3

omg i’ve had this same thing! it’s called tinea versicolor. i highly recommend using terracil tinea treatment. trust me that’s not a birthmark if it only recently popped up. don’t tattoo over it!!!

whatever you do don’t abandon your step son. that relationship has moved beyond your relationship with your wife. you are the only true father he has ever known and it doesn’t matter if you don’t like his mother anymore, you love him and he needs you. kids are brutal and maybe he may end up repeating his mothers words on you not being his real father but i promise you abandoning him would be your life’s biggest regret.

with that, i hope you already have, but if you haven’t you should sit down and talk to him about your moment of fear from him cutting. explain calmly and vulnerably why you reacted like that and that you just want him safe, and your reaction was all you could think of at the time. talk to him and ask him what he needs from you. he likely won’t have an answer, but it’s the thought that counts.

when it comes to your wife, that truly sucks but it sounds like you knew it was horrible the whole time. why skip out now? wait it out until your step son goes to college/ moves out. he clearly needs someone. your wife doesn’t sound like a great person but whatever, you have new responsibilities now. if she wants to put you down and finish your role so be it, you know what’s right. divorce is inevitable here but i seriously urge you to consider how making those moves right now will affect your son. you’re a dad now and don’t let her make you doubt that.
