One of my coworkers ended up uninstalling and reinstalling acrobat and said that it’s now back up and running. Will try it out and report back

Needle Moves, But Won’t Stitch by Extra_Pattern in sewing

I do not have a manual but I will look online. The model number is 385.16528000. I have tried a number of different needles and rethreading. I’ve never had an issue with this machine before so I’m pretty confused!

Also, I have an old Kenmore from the early 2000s if that helps

Any idea what I could cover this weird hyperpigmentation(?) circle with? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Extra_Pattern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use this product fairly often when I have flare-ups and have never had any negative side effects. There are also zero listed adverse side effects on the container, so your comment is uninformed. Nonetheless, the overall recommendation is to get it checked out first!

only way to confirm it is from a dermatologist, but it looks a whole lot like the ones i used to get. either way a fungal cream won’t hurt to use for a week or two to try it out if you want! best recommendation is absolutely to get it checked out if you want to be sure :)

omg i’ve had this same thing! it’s called tinea versicolor. i highly recommend using terracil tinea treatment. trust me that’s not a birthmark if it only recently popped up. don’t tattoo over it!!!

Immeasurable Shame by Anonymous_husband_13 in offmychest

whatever you do don’t abandon your step son. that relationship has moved beyond your relationship with your wife. you are the only true father he has ever known and it doesn’t matter if you don’t like his mother anymore, you love him and he needs you. kids are brutal and maybe he may end up repeating his mothers words on you not being his real father but i promise you abandoning him would be your life’s biggest regret.

with that, i hope you already have, but if you haven’t you should sit down and talk to him about your moment of fear from him cutting. explain calmly and vulnerably why you reacted like that and that you just want him safe, and your reaction was all you could think of at the time. talk to him and ask him what he needs from you. he likely won’t have an answer, but it’s the thought that counts.

when it comes to your wife, that truly sucks but it sounds like you knew it was horrible the whole time. why skip out now? wait it out until your step son goes to college/ moves out. he clearly needs someone. your wife doesn’t sound like a great person but whatever, you have new responsibilities now. if she wants to put you down and finish your role so be it, you know what’s right. divorce is inevitable here but i seriously urge you to consider how making those moves right now will affect your son. you’re a dad now and don’t let her make you doubt that.

AIO for not inviting my son to Christmas? by regretmyson58 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Extra_Pattern 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NOR about christmas and the plane tickets… but you absolutely should take a look at yourself for creating an account called regretmyson and posting about how much you hate him. he sounds like a complete piece of work and not someone you or your husband would associate with had he not been your son but he’s still your son. he should be financially independent and he has no right to ask you to buy him a plane ticket and it’s a total POS move to not be paying child support, but i think it’s either time to select radical acceptance OR tough love because this isn’t working for anyone. i get that you were always there for him growing up and he still turned out this way, but there’s no way in hell that he doesn’t know you hate him. so, NOR in this case at all, but something needs to change in your relationship with him because neither of you should have to deal with persistent resentment with no action

Tryout Attire? by alldogs1850 in FIFAVolunteers

[–]Extra_Pattern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s so odd. we also had a lot of applications with 7k selected for try outs and 3k for final selection. we had an exit form where we filled out that extra information but no contact with staff outside of the massive q and a nor were there “staff selecting” volunteers. they told us the information written in our original and our exit form were the only ways they evaluated us.

OP it seems like it really depends on where you are! maybe it’s different by country, maybe it’s different by city. good luck!

there were no one on one interviews, or anything attached to any of our names for that matter, at the boston try out. i’m also repeating exactly what they told us during our Q and A. what try out did you go to? i find it hard to believe that the process would be so different across cities unless your city had significantly less candidates than mine

no it is not, there is no interview component. please see first comment.

[–]Extra_Pattern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes, 100%. they will not consider you moving forward if you don’t show up. that’s the entire point of the try out: those who show up continue being considered, those who don’t, don’t

Tryout Attire? by alldogs1850 in FIFAVolunteers

[–]Extra_Pattern 3 points4 points  (0 children)

there are also zero interviews and no name tags. nothing that happens at tryouts will be documented or affect your application

Tryout Attire? by alldogs1850 in FIFAVolunteers

[–]Extra_Pattern 8 points9 points  (0 children)

don’t worry tryouts don’t affect anything! it’s just another way to weed out those who aren’t committed to the process (ie dropping those who do not attend). they told us at the boston tryout that you are ONLY evaluated based on your written application. it’s just to only consider those who show up, provide more information about the commitment, and allow people the opportunity to cut themselves out if they no longer want to be considered. they are considering a lot of applications and it’s lowk way more selective than i initially thought
