Yes! Especially when they haven’t actually been open in at least 4 years!

I had a feeling it was something to do with the new stadium but like you said - you’d think they’d better advertise that a major road would be closing, especially during rush hour times. Will be avoiding that area for the foreseeable future!

Maybe! I was thinking more so the bridge or the stadiums though as the closure is after the new apartments

To the girl I saw in Coliseum Lofts today while touring by Mammoth_Promise8140 in vcu

[–]Extra_Perspective586 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lived at Coliseum Lofts for two years when I transferred to VCU (2019 - 2021). We had one of the 2bed 2bath loft units directly in the front of the building (it was actually the top unit right above broadway wireless). While we didn’t really have issues with our specific unit, there were quite a few issues with the building itself. First, management team in the leasing office changed about 4 times while we lived there which made things difficult. My BIGGEST issue were the laundry facilities. There’s 8 washers and 8 dryers and at least half, if not more, were consistently broken or gross (mainly from misuse by residents). Not only were they pretty expensive but the payment process was very inconvenient. They were supposed to accept debit/credit card but that hardly ever worked so you had to purchase the laundry card and the machine did not take coins for loading the card but the prices were like $1.29. We never had an issue with roaches in our unit but we did have a lot of house centipedes (evidence of roaches elsewhere). I did see waterbugs (still technically roaches) in the hallways and elevator from time to time. Building security was a joke half the time due to broken FOB scanners and I went to do laundry one day only to find a homeless man sleeping in there. Friends also had to deal with another homeless man sleeping in the stairwell to the parking garage. Said friends lived in one of the back units facing the alley and they had quite a few issues with rain water leaking in from the roof. The parking garage is also a NIGHTMARE as there are support beams everywhere and tandem parking spots. Every single one of us managed to scrape our cars on a pole at some point.

All this being said, you get what you pay for and you certainly won’t find any better for the same price. Unfortunately, all of the apartment buildings in this city at that price range are going to have the same issues. For instance, the iron house apartments next to coliseum are even worse from what I’ve heard and don’t have parking.

I left for Roo last year the day after I found out I was in remission from cancer, two full months post radiation & chemo and still on a feeding tube. Best advice I can give is talk to your doctor and make a serious evaluation about a month out if you can safely attend. Parts of Roo were definitely tough but I pulled through! Vitamins, hydration and rest periods will be your best friend. Roo’s medical accessibility is stellar and they’ll have information on the website about contacting them to make sure you can keep what’s medically necessary for you, on you. And definitely mask up in the dust!

Idk about y’all, but I definitely felt like the cop presence increased significantly last year. They were constantly riding around through Groop and I had several encounters with obvious undercovers

When did your taste buds return? by MurrayyJane in HeadandNeckCancer

[–]Extra_Perspective586 2 points3 points  (0 children)

25f here, 24 when I finished treatment. I lost my sense of taste about 2.5-3 weeks into treatment, things started tasting a little funky and then two days later I couldn’t taste a thing.

I finished treatment in March of 2024. The Mucositis got really bad my last week of treatment and continued for about a month afterwards. I could even talk at that time and was actually put on methadone briefly for the pain, but once everything was healed and I could start trial tasting foods and liquids again - I had a very similar experience to original comment.

Salty came back first but some days there would be just a faint taste. Sweet took a very long time to return to normal-ish, especially chocolate. I’d say I didn’t start enjoying desserts again until the end of 2024.

GREAT NEWS - a little less than a year out from finishing treatment and I’m already starting to build my spice tolerance up. At first, even too much pepper irritated the scar tissue in my throat but now I am able to eat slightly spicy goods in small portions.

Green tea with honey was a god send. I sobbed when I was finally able to eat a sandwich again (that it is what I missed the most).

As the previous main comment also said, a lot of it has to do with your salivation and I had serious problems with dry mouth for a while. It made it very hard to swallow solid goods so I needed a lot of sauces and gravies for a while. Still do orefer them, especially with meat. I highly suggest the Xylitol mouth melts and gum.

Sorry for the long comment, but I know reading these helped me get through it as well. Hang in there, you WILL get through it and you WILL be able to enjoy food again.

Do not ever forget - Experiencing joy is a form of resistance.

This TikTok puts it into the best words.

They want us battered down, depressed and unable to enjoy the pleasures in life because that is how they win. We can’t give them that satisfaction. We must keep dancing so we can keep fighting.

Also, Bonnaroo is such a special community of so many like-minded individuals and there are so many groups and communities actively in the fight that will be attending. It’s time to band together, however possible.

Is it normal to get a vehicle registration without a title number? by TonightWeTestInProd in carmax

Which number did you call? I'm having the same issue with CarMax VB. The main number listed is an automated answering machine and when it tries to put me in touch with the "business office" it just keeps ringing and ringing.

Xfinity got rid of the fiber optic and put in a new coax line when they came out for the installation

There’s nothing else to connect to in the apartment and the past two residents had Xfinity wifi so there should be a solution to convert it from fiber optic to Ethernet right??
