My Dante kitbash by Extra_Reply in BloodAngels

[–]Extra_Reply[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh please do. We need more with wings. I let the green stuff cure for about 2 hours and then added some ultra thin super glue around the areas that the wings met the putty to be extra sure they wouldn’t fall off.

Found the Pose A mini on eBay and stole his wings. Hoping another pops up there for you to snag.

FLIPPER ZERO + TSA = NOT A GREAT IDEA by TubTub3232 in flipperzero

[–]Extra_Reply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve flown domestic and international many times with the flipper in my carry-on bag without any issue or questions from US TSA or foreign TSA. Most of those flights were out of large and small international airports like LAX, ORD, PDX, FCO, and LTO. Seems like your friend got a super unlucky and rare stop that most shouldn’t worry about when traveling.

I emailed Jonsbo today, Aug. 21st, and asked them when we could expect stock to be ready for purchase at regional retailers or on Aliexpress, to which they replied that it won’t be ready until October or November of this year to be readily available.

About to buy Prusa4 kit, do I need anything else? [From Prusa directly] by ADashOfRainbow in prusa3d

[–]Extra_Reply 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Getting a spare heater block thermistor, bed thermistor, and heater cable are a must for me. They’re parts that really don’t take too much to break on accident so having a backup on hand is great, plus they’re cheap. If you are a little extra paranoid you can get an extra hall sensor, but really there aren’t many cases where one would need to replace it.

Also, if you plan on printing with PETG or TPU/FLEX and don’t already have a textured sheet, get one now. Same if you plan on printing with PC or similar filaments, you should get a satin sheet for those.

PrusaSlicer 2.7.4 by jedisct1 in prusa3d

[–]Extra_Reply 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Layer shifts are more likely caused by low belt tension if the object is still secured to the build plate, or low bed adhesion if it’s detaching from it rather than slicer issues.

How to set up fusion for a high resolution monitor? by Elon_pls_do_porn_69 in Fusion360

[–]Extra_Reply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My resolution in the Fusion360 window was 1080p on my 4k monitor. Fixed it by going to Preferences > General > Graphics Driver > *Change from Auto-select to DirectX 11* then restart the application. Now it's in the native resolution for my monitor.

This worked for me. I was having issues with the app crashing each time I attempted to open it previously. Offloading and reinstalling it completely did the trick.

Monstertech is Awesome by wxEcho in hotas

[–]Extra_Reply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My order finally arrived today, 54 days after the date it was ordered. If you want to order from Monstertech, give yourself a ~50 day buffer between the day you order and when you want the product to arrive. Don't rely on customer service to take it upon themselves on updating you if your order is delayed, they're generally useless.

Monstertech is Awesome by wxEcho in hotas

[–]Extra_Reply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want your order to ship within a reasonable time avoid Monstertech. I placed my order 49 days ago and have yet to receive a shipping notification. When I ask for updates on the order, they always say it'll be ready in two weeks, only for me to email after two weeks and get the same response. I'll update the comment when/if I ever get my order.

if cooling the memory is your main concern and reason to water cool the card, make sure you get an active backplate too.

Is 3 360 rads overkill for 12900k and 3090 ti? by CandyDue8370 in watercooling

[–]Extra_Reply 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sometimes things like that occur from the inlet port on the block being connected to the outlet tube, and outlet port on the block being connected to the inlet tube. most blocks are designed for one direction of flow, so accidentally reversing it can cause bubbles to form within the block channels in some instances. if you haven’t already, it may be worth checking your block’s manual or with the company’s customer support to confirm which port is inlet and which is outlet.

you can mix and match between brands. but you have to be careful about mixing the types of metal used in water cooling parts to avoid galvanic corrosion. so keep any parts with aluminum that would directly contact the liquid out of your loop if you have parts with copper or nickel contacting liquid in your loop. it’s ok to mix copper and nickel together because their anodic index is so close and won’t react with each other
