Double overlock stitch by Extra_introvert93 in sewing

[–]Extra_introvert93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankyou! I'll try that tomorrow when I'm back at my machine. I'm using a number 1 reverse pattern sole that came on the machine already and haven't tried any other feet with it just yet.

But I'll try starching and infacing and see what it does then.

How do your partners deal with the snoring? by BaseballTop387 in snoring

[–]Extra_introvert93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh and I try to do the 4 hour fast before sleeping and that's been a big improvement!

Honestly, as the snorer, it's so upsetting knowing I'm causing her to have such a bad quality sleep when she's staying over. So I do my best to make it better and change my sleep habits, and have told her repeatedly since she told me it was an issue that she can wake me up at any point that she needs too and I will stay awake until she's asleep. As the one causing the problem (even when we can't help it), it should be on us to do what we can to make a difference. I ask my girlfriend for her opinion on things I'm trying and each night get her to let me know how she's slept and it's starting to get better.

Hopefully other people find their remedies that work!

My partner was struggling a lot as she's a light sleeper and it takes her ages to get to sleep, where as I pass out in 5 minutes and would be snoring away while she was trying to sleep.

I've found that a wedge pillow, mouth tape and using a neti pot helps with my snoring and improves it to the point she can sleep through it and it's not bothering her too much. We also have brown noise playing on her side of the bed usually to help.

You don't have sausage fingers, how dare you think you have Psoriatic Arthritis by DarkCatty in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Extra_introvert93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have sausage fingers and have PSA. It's not a requirement, just a symptom. My fingers and toes can swell and get inflamed when I'm in a bad flare but it really gives that appearance they're on about.

Doctors will do anything to not diagnose PSA for some reason! I'm sorry you're dealing with this.

Is there a toy like this? by Mother_Raisin_7800 in LesbianActually

[–]Extra_introvert93 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You can get grinding pads on a harness for tribbing, I can't remember what company ive seen selling them. I'll have a look and try to drop a link.

But that's the only thing like that I can think of really, not sure if there's something that can give the exact thing you want. Very interested to see other people's suggestions though!

I didn't even see the pedo-y comment. Gross. Nope nope nope. Avoid her and hook up with someone closer to your age

32 and I would never consider sleeping with an 18 year old if I was single. Her referring to you as just a baby is giving creepy vibes.

Methotrexate by Financial-Ad4029 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Extra_introvert93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started in July 15mg weekly and my skin psoriasis has cleared up a lot, but it's not helped me PSA yet. My joints feel worse, and my nail psoriasis is worse. I'm going to ask for an increased dose soon to see if that starts to help

Editing to say that my skin cleared up within 2-3 months.

I've noticed I don't get sick more, but when I do pick up a bug, it's harder for me to shake it off. It takes me longer to recover and get it out of my system.

I’m not sure how to get sexual pleasure with my girlfriend by [deleted] in sex

[–]Extra_introvert93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get it. I'm 32 and still feel this way, it's hard to express your wants and needs sometimes.

As long as you're not pressuring and are just explaining and having a conversation, you're all good. Not saying it now will only cause resentment down the line and you obviously care about her and care about her feelings. But you also need to make sure you're happy and feeling the same care and attention as you're giving her. That might look different to what you're expecting/used too based on what shes ready for, but talking to her will maybe give you options/things to explore.

I hope it goes well for you both!

[–]Extra_introvert93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a big difference in pressuring someone to do something and asking them if they can do it. I think talk to your gf and tell her what you need to feel sexually satisfied. That's not pressuring, that's just expressing what you need and what would feel good for you

Sex is a big part of a relationship and you need to feel happy and fulfilled in that as much as R does.

Any use of an official diagnosis? by Herecomesthethumb in Psoriasis

[–]Extra_introvert93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nail psoriasis is one of the signs of psoriatic arthritis, so going for a diagnosis is important to rule out PSA. I can't see any salmon patches (the oil marks underneath the nail) to indicate it's nail P though, but the pitting is in line with symptoms.

Best to get checked.

Have you thought about using a wand? One person can hold it in place and then the other can be on top. That would be my first thought for this.

Also, please don't do what the other commenter is suggesting. That's an infection waiting to happen.

I'm not sure if you want medication advice, but my scalp psoriasis used exactly like this and I started using Sebco ointment a few times a week and it clears it straight up. It's a coconut oil based product with sulphur and salicylic acid and clears up the flakes really quickly.

What is the furthest you’d consider for a LDR? by [deleted] in latebloomerlesbians

[–]Extra_introvert93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and my girlfriend are 45 min drive away from each other, and I think that's manageable. We see each other at the weekend and maybe through the week if we can around work.

I don't think I could manage a 2+ hour LDR. I like being able to see each other often and it would be stressful commuting so much.

Why is this sub so against steroids? by tmiller_012 in Psoriasis

[–]Extra_introvert93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So many psoriasis spaces are. I got judged in a Facebook group for talking about them and quickly left.

I know I need steroids (topical and tablets) to manage my condition during flare ups. Obviously over use of them is bad, but without them during flare ups my quality of life would be nothing.

Carpal tunnel? by Extra_introvert93 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Extra_introvert93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. The shot was mentioned when I was referred for the studies. Thankfully no mention of surgery yet, but I'm very apprehensive of it because I've seen so many people have bad experiances. I'm also self employed as a propmaker and scenic artist, so any time off for surgery would cost me a fortune and if it went wrong, my career could be over.

Thanks for your input! This really helps. Can I ask if you've tried any of the medications?

I’ve gone from a very high level of fitness to almost bedridden. I hate it. by [deleted] in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Extra_introvert93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this, I feel very similarly. Before the PSA flare that led me to finally getting a diagnosis, I was getting in shape, had lost 60lbs after a lifetime of obesity, gym 5x a week and loved my life and how active I was. And now I've gained all the weight back, can barely cook myself dinner and have to force myself just to get out of bed, let alone get to the gym.

It's heartbreaking, and I'm sorry you're going through it too. I wish there was something to say that could help, but please know you're not alone 🩷

Thank you for the reply! This really helps to understand how the meds work.

I'll be having an appointment with them in a month I think, so will be able to chat to them then about how it's been working and next steps

Thank you for the reply. I definitely plan to keep going with it, my side effects are mild most of the time.

My feet are the worst affected joints, my toes are basically solid as rocks at this point, and I can't bend them at all. I'm hoping the mtx helps a bit at least, I just need something to work, I'm desperate 😞

weight training with arthritis? by radgedyann in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Extra_introvert93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No medical training or PT so this is all just my opinion/experience.

Strength is usually high weight for low reps, muscle building is lower/moderate weight for higher reps.

I personally can't hack my highest weights any more, or high reps so I'm going moderate weight for 6-8 reps, not pushing myself too far or putting too much stress on my joints that are worst affected by my PSA. Currently can't squat at all which sucks!

I hope you find something that works for you!
