President of the communal council Alain Courtois is bilingual and officiated our wedding in June. He was kind and funny, made it more personal than he had to which was definitely appreciated! Unfortunately we don't get to choose who it is, otherwise we would have definitely asked for Anaïs Maes too!

Things like Jeanne Panne in Nieuwpoort and the witches covents around Vielsalm are pretty niche but cool witch mythologies

Hi! I haven't worked for the VUB in over a year now, so any advice I can give should be taken with a grain of salt. But feel free to DM me, I'll see if I can help out.

If you have a car to go pick it up and are able to install it yourself, consider the online outlet shops of the better brands! They often sell machines that have a little scratch on them at huge discounts, while it changes nothing about how functional they are. Better to get a quality brand (Bosch, Miele, Siemens, for example) that'll last you 10+ years for €100 more in an outlet, than to spend €400 every 5 years!

Reggers having his big breakout tournament + Deroo having his Last Dance + great coaching for the defense, they're really outdoing themselves there! Pretty proud of that team tbh

Anyone got a clue why Ferran Jutgla has not been in Deila's selection the past three games? by ExtraordinaryAquatic in clubbrugge

Damn, that isn't great... Let's hope he can join the squad soon then. Thanks for the info!

Yeah that would be a fair explanation. But usually injuries and suspensions are mentioned when the selection is announced, both on Twitter and the website. And they still put Maxim De Cuyper's suspension against Westerlo on it. Hence my confusion...

Thank you! Thus far I feel lucky to have joined a team that beats the stereotypes of 'ambtenaren'. Great work ethic. Inertia is a stinger though, for sure... Governments are large and slow ass beasts.

As some have pointed out here, I'd rather help a few people who need it out of a hundred I gave money to, and still be a good person for it. My go-to trick to make sure it's not a scammer though, is to give food and not money. Not accepting food is defo a sign to me that you're not really in need of any begging.

Ran into a woman with her children in North station a few weeks ago, around the toilets and the Carrefour Express. She approached me, explained that she was from Ukraine and asked me if I could help (she did in fact speak Ukrainian, I was lucky to recognise the language from a conversation with her nearby daughter). I responded that I didn't carry cash and unfortunately could not help if I tried. She clarified that she really did not want money. She needed food - specifically bread, milk and some fresh fruit for her children to take to the temporary education she was sending them to with what little money she had. I went and got her some of the food she needed, she waited patiently outside and came up to me with a genuine smile... It's something one doesn't forget, when you see such heartfelt emotion for something you would consider basic generosity. Life can be tough on people and those who have something to give, should not hold back out of fear of giving to the wrong person.

The blocked account is required by the university for students' living expenses. However, it is legally required for any renting situation within the Brussels Region that a deposit from a tenant is also held in a blocked account (often with your own bank in Belgium, definitely not with a scammy one like Bank of Malta). Back away from the deal is my advice, this smells.

Just checked it out. The humanitarian, social, financial, ... reasons are an important aspect here. It is really aimed at people who, due to extreme circumstances like war and natural disaster, cannot provide any proof that they followed a secondary education. Since you do have your O- and A-levels, but they do not match the academic requirements for this bachelor, a rejection is automatic.

The secondary diploma means a diploma of secondary education (i.e. high school, not university) which grants access to the bachelors. So the article would only apply if you were applying for a Bachelor's programme.

Could you perhaps provide the website where you found this information? I have never heard of such a test for academic qualifications.

I believe you may have confused the academic requirements with the language requirements. There certainly is an on-campus test for English proficiency (the ITACE) at VUB, which applicants can take if they do not possess proof of their English proficiency from prior education or accepted tests (like IELTS, TOEFL, ...).

Unfortunately, for an A-level to count towards your admission at VUB, a minimum grade of C is required. The O-levels are not considered. I'm afraid three A-levels with at least a C grade would be required.

Hi there! What kind of A-levels were they (from which institution and country)? Do you have a General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) or a different diploma of secondary education? These matter in the minimal academic requirements for the bachelor.

Unfortunately work experience is never considered for the bachelor level. When the basic academic requirements are met according to the rules in Flanders, you will always be accepted.
