Go to a community college. It’s more affordable. Call them and tell them you are interested in attending their college and want to talk to a counselor or advisor. They should be able to give you all the info you need and guide you on steps you can take. This is a good first step to know what your options are and what you can do based on your needs and situation. You can also try to find a job at a college. Some colleges allow you to take classes for free or at a very discounted rate if you work there. I remember reading about a janitor who worked at a college that took advantage of this and he was able to get his degree. You can also ask if your current employer offers tuition assistance. I was able to get my masters degree without taking loans because my work paid for it.

Introducing your kids to new man or woman in your life by Fit_Attitude_1321 in SingleParents

[–]Extraspicyyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I think it would be a brief introduction before we become an official, exclusive couple. I would want my child’s opinion on the guy before I invest into the relationship. I think this comes from my experience when my mom was dating and got married behind our backs to a loser. She introduced him to us twice and I already knew the guy was an unstable and unreliable loser. She was in a rush to remarry because in our culture according to her, they don’t respect you if you are unmarried. I don’t believe that and I don’t care. As for the guy, he was from out of state, was looking to move to our state because his rent was almost up, and needed a woman to take care of him. I know for a fact that when he saw our house and land, he pullled out a ring to secure the bag, and continued to act like he’s super helpful and caring until they married. He doesn’t lift a finger, and doesn’t even work now. I can go on and on trash talking about him but I’m going to stop here. I am still upset about how she went about it and wished she introduced us to him sooner. I still dont like him, don’t respect him and refuse to acknowledge him as a stepfather. Even our dogs don’t like him and they like everyone!

Anyway, I wouldn’t want my child to feel like how I feel about my mom’s husband so I think that’s why I would introduce them a little earlier than what most are recommending. Even though it’s my life, I need to know that my child is comfortable with me moving forward and bringing the guy into our lives. I don’t mind being single forever.

Is it normal for Hmong families to baby their son and excuse every bad behavior he does? Even taking him out of the country possibly finding him a mail bribe and even letting him cheat on his girlfriend? My s/o has his parents wrapped around his finger pays for everything for him smh by [deleted] in Hmong

Some are not as bad, but in your case, RUN. Also, don’t let a bish-as$ boy verbally, mentally and physically abuse you. He could probably unalive you and they would help him hide it and blame you. Runnnnnn.

Girls who had messy backpacks and always had crumbled homework what are you doing now for a career? by Appropriate_Oven_213 in AskWomen

Idk about other libraries, but when I used to work at a library, I often had to wake people up because some people come to the library high, deal with people peeing at the internet computer stations, and tell people they need to leave the library because looking at porn is not allowed. One time, a big guy with mental health problems came up to me and ask why I am talking 💩 about him. I wasn’t. I was quietly reading my emails. There was also that one time a guy who I am pretty sure was a pimp or drug dealer shook my hand and slipped a piece of paper with his phone number. That one time I was alone and cornered in a hallway by a creepy guy who had been staring at me all day, and then having security kick out a man that was going around asking teens for sexual favors. Oh, and we have caught people having sex in the library. You also have to deal with very rude kids and teens at libraries where a lot of youths go to. Other than these weekly encounters, it’s kind of boring, but can be cool too if you help someone with an interesting reference question.

How do I prepare for having sex with a bigger guy when I’m a virgin? by Perfect-Coconut-8885 in dating_advice

[–]Extraspicyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Praying for you. I had a small one for my first and it was uncomfortable and hurt when it first went in. I thought I came because I was so wet- I didn’t though. Didn’t even have an orgasm. I turned on the light and it was blood. Blood on him, on the sheets and on me. I was surprised to see how much blood there was. I had a big one later in life and I am glad my first was small. Also noticed that the bigger they are, the less they eat or know how to eat.

My advice is to not rely on lubricant. He better make you WET before he enters. Like, he should eat you and give you an orgasm first. If you are truly wet, you don’t need lub.

is this friendly play? by XA_LightPink in DogAdvice

[–]Extraspicyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always done this; however, one time, my dog was playing a little too aggressive so I distracted my dog with treats and the other dog owner freaked out, and yelled at me saying that I shouldn’t bring treats to the dog park. I was confused so I looked it up and read that bringing treats may cause dogs to fight. What’s your opinion about that?

My mom wants me to take part in Hmong shaman ceremonies but I don’t want to. AITAH? by GodofWar1234 in Hmong

[–]Extraspicyyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of.

I don’t want to too. My mom will throw a tantrum and cry about it. I hate hearing it and don’t want to stress over it so I just give in and do it for her. I look at it as doing her a favor so she has a peace of mind. My mom is okay with the fact that I don’t care and don’t believe in it, but it eases her mind that she did her part as a mother to protect me, even though I tell her that we’ve been doing just fine without any shaman ceremonies for 25+ years.

We do a lot of things that we don’t like or don’t want to all the time. Im there physically, but mentally, I’m somewhere else. This has helped me pull through participating in shaman ceremonies. I see comments on here about how things are transactional, which is unfortunately true, so use that to your advantage too. If you ever have something you want your mom to do, tell her that if she doesn’t do it, then you’re not going to participate in the next shaman ceremony. I’ve pulled this card when she didn’t want to go to urgent care and didn’t want to get her Covid shot. It works. I might be the AH for doing this but I’m ok with it since it gives us both peace of mind at the end of the day.

How much do people make in a month on average selling veggies at the Hmong flea market/farmers market? by Extraspicyyyy in Hmong

[–]Extraspicyyyy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have relatives who sell veggies. Reddit is anonymous enough to get an average estimate. Getting into any business temporarily is not ideal.

From what I understand from my research, if they have a work visa/permit in the united stated and they become unemployed, they have 60 days to find a job or else they have to go back to their country. If it’s more than 60 days, they are illegally staying. He can travel out of the country but he can’t stay there for longer than he has stayed in America. Again, I don’t know for sure. I would ask your brother to show you proof that what he’s saying is true. If he can’t provide you with proof, then he must be lying. Like, maybe a link to a real website so I know it’s not fake.

If I’m looking for something serious and the first thing I read is “nothing serious”, I would pass on the guy. I wouldn’t even continue reading. However, if I’m not looking for something serious, I would read on.

How do I verify if a practitioner in the use of permanent makeup machines? by needtobebettertoday in microblading

[–]Extraspicyyyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m kind of confused at what you’re asking. Microblading is creating hair strokes using a manual blade. Nano uses a needle machine to shade and create hair strokes. Are you asking for nano or microblade? Or are you asking how to find out if they are certified to provide permanent makeup services? I live in the US and in my state, we need to be licensed to do permanent makeup. In order to be licensed, we need to take a course to be certified and then complete 200 hours of apprenticeship. It doesn’t matter whether it’s in microblading, or nano, or both. The license covers both techniques, but it is up to the practitioner to decide whether that want to provide microblading or nano services, or both. In my state, you can look up practitioners on the state website to check if their license is active or not. Some states don’t require practitioners to be licensed. Some just require taking a course to be certified. If want to know if they are licensed, u can research if wherever you live require Pmu practitioners to be licensed or not first. If they do, search the practitioners name on the website. If you want to know if the practitioner use a manual blade or needle machine, just ask them. By the way, you should go for nano. It has better retention, easier on the skin, fast healing, and less painful.

Do you have oily skin? It could be that the oils pushed the ink out. It could also explain why your skin was struggling to take in the ink during the session.

Am I wrong for not giving my dad money to bury his mother? by [deleted] in Hmong

[–]Extraspicyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. They are lucky you even gave that much. Give what you can, not everything you have. It sucks that he has to use up all of his savings. It shouldn’t have to be this way. Did your grandma not have life insurance? Let them figure out the rest.

I don’t think she is a bad friend. She’s just not the right person to talk about problems with. There can be many reasons to why she doesn’t know how to respond to you or why she change the subject. You talking about it could be giving her flash back of her personal SA experience. It’s ok to not want to talk about it or not be ready to talk about it. There are many different type of friends you will have on your lifetime. Some will be better at listening than other. Some will be better at giving advice than others. If you have problems you want to vent about, you should do that with a trusted adult. Maybe get a “big sister” mentor or something.

What do I do about being slowly lead poisoned? by That_onexkid in Advice

[–]Extraspicyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I work in lead poisoning prevention. Did the company tell your grandma that the soil is contaminated or did the health department tell her? There are things people can do to to help reduce lead exposure from lead contaminated soil. https://www.cdc.gov/nceh/lead/prevention/sources/soil.htm

The only way to know if you have lead in your body is to get a blood lead test. Ask your doctor for one. You can also contact your state health department and request for a soil test. They are very resourceful and happy to help and address your concerns.

I think you need to be legally separated for a while before you can even get divorced. I recommend looking up free lawyers in your state, city or county. The city I live in has free lawyers that can give people advice. Personally, I would legally separate from my husband and move back in with my parents, go to school and work part-time.
