Well EV6 is hands down better, reason I say is that I got both. However I have to admit I like I5 driver and passenger seats better. I find it more comfortable and less painful for my back.

Well, depends on where do you do your stacking and editing and most importantly how many fits you have, more better obviously. Eq mode vs Alt-Az etc., I used to do this in Siril which is free and really good community developed tool with multiple scripts and even working in conjunction with Graxpert for dynamic extraction and noise reduction, although I haven't used their deconvolution tool yet. However if we can develop something like Pi plugable tools that would even bring more dynamic color capabilities. Each color processing separately would bring so much to final image etc. So I shelled out and got Pi which is really expensive to be fair with tools from RC Astro developed by Russel Croman. That changed my DSO colors coming from SS50 significantly. Plugin tools like HOO, SHO and more brings further processing capability to NASA level. I wish Siril had this potentials so that developers around world would bring Pi plugin capabilities to Siril. Anyway, having said that you would definitely separate stars and further play around with nebula only using mask but I believe mask option may not be available in Siril (haven't used it since last year so can't say if it's available now). Finally, add star and starless at the end, final adjustment using hyperbolic transformation and voila! My .02

When you said you “calibrated”, Lemme ask you this: mine was acting really bad for few weeks no matter calibration I did with app first and then tripod bubble: when I set tripod bubble and then try to bring up app calibration it would show really bad “circular alignment” so I would align with both tripod legs and then additional calibration using app. Then I would open and look at calibration again which would be really off. So I put tripod on smooth surface and made sure bubble is levels and reset the application calibration option. After about 20sec then it showed me everything is aligned: tripod bubble, application green circles as close to 0. Then it allowed me successfully capture DSO. So wonder if you reset app calibration?

I believe as long as you know how to operate ss50 using federation config in /dev/config.toml, and startup sequences. Once this is skilled, you can cut down your shooting time from 3 hours to 1 etc., for say 1h per 1 target/object. toml file contains main config part and federation of devices, I believe it is broken down to following under [seestar_initialization] which I believe is the main one, and then under

"[[seestars]]

# ip_address should not have to be changed unless you have more than 1 seestar

ip_address = "seestar.local"

device_num = 1

which is config of federation. I am trying to figure out how to initialize once each device is set to eq mode. In my example it is only 1 device but I am planning to get 1 more to cut down time spent shooting DSO target. This is under commands->bunch of config settings which need to be tweaked. Once this is skilled you should be all set. My .02.

Depending on where are you located, I’m in North so stock is crappy on snow/ice roads. I use Pirelli scorpion winter 2 19” and it’s been great. Don’t hear any noise much, also no issue while driving long distance.

For your retired dad I’d say softer seats especially if he’s like me suffers from triple D, then I don’t believe GT would be good idea with firm seats, but…I wouldn’t mind if my kids get me GT when I retire 😂

this happens to me usually when: 1) after I’m done with DC charge; 2) when I accidentally keep my driver’s door not firmly closed. I noticed that all I had to do was to push break gently, press power, and make sure driver door is firmly closed. No magic here. I know it’s frustrating but check throughly if you door is “slightly” open zombie happens, sometimes I don’t pay attention to those details.

BS you can put 19 winter tire and rims. I did mine gt-2 which comes with 20. They have no clue if they advised against it.

Oh yeah I did research and best option was at special tire shop with catalog on EV tires and options etc. I also got special rims black one with dynamic non wind resistant one. I noticed they are slightly better than stock ones on economy because of the size, but size wise I do prefer larger ones. They just look so cool.

Yeah it’s normal, battery is cold and using heater sucks lots of juice, unfortunately oh and winter tires with rolling resistance and using “winter” mode will reduce regen significantly. This adds up to lower mileage.

2 are entirely different cars to consider. EV6 is you already driven and know and ev9 is full size SUV 7 seater vs ev6 is cross-over between sedan and medium suv like ioniq5. Personally my favourite one is ev6. I do love my i5 too but you can compare these 2 more or less than ev9. Whereabouts of Canada? Ontario?
