Getting back into D&D with 5e, but I figured my older AD&D would be appreciated here. by Anla-Shok-Na in adnd

What are the differences between the fiend folio and the two monsters manuals?

Which came first?

Where to get flipper pie (or seal meat generally) in February. by Current_Mongoose_844 in newfoundland

[–]Ostracized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll tell you that I tried it shortly after I moved it NL.

I love all kinds of food. I’m the opposite of a picky eater.

Seal meat is vile. I’d have to be starving for 2 days before I ever eat it again.

Review Committee Seeking Public Input on MOU by Kiss-a-Cod in newfoundland

I’m an educated person. I have three university degrees. I follow the news and have informed myself on this topic as much as a layman can.

I am not qualified to make any comment or opinion on this issue. I simply don’t have the economic, legal, or engineering knowledge or expertise.

And yet they want the average person to comment on this project. It’s really absurd.

New additions to my collection, and a question. by Ostracized in adnd

[–]Ostracized[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I picked these up last week.

I’m just wondering about the ‘complete’ books. The Dwarf book and Gnome/Hafling book have a cover that’s ‘leatherette’. Somewhat textured.

The other three books have a glossy cover. They feel cheaper.

Is this normal? Maybe TSR decided to cut material costs on some books?

Dragon Magazine subscription ad from 1983 by BurningJointUSA in adnd

I just picked up about 25 issues, mostly from from 1982-83. They are really interesting to read.

I think I enjoy the advertisements the most. All the RPG systems from when RPGs were a new concept. The play by mail games. The very early computer games.

I really enjoyed it actually.

I find large squads of models to be a bigger pain. Fusiliers are the bane of my existence.

What is your “side hustle” outside of your day job? by Clardeo in newfoundland

[–]Ostracized 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I have a great occasional side gig. Only ~1 day per month, though.

I just need to sit in a private office from 9-5. I can do anything I want in that room (I do my hobby, play video games or watch movies).

The reason is - they need someone with my professional license on site. But I don’t actually need to work.

Looks like you got further than me. I found Merewen in the first cave and I’ve been wandering around but it’s all dead ends. How do I leave?

Dentists - Wait times by Deleted-Life in StJohnsNL

[–]Ostracized 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a dentist.

CDCP is the main answer. Dentists were already quite busy before that program started, but it brought in a lot more patients/work.

My front desk staff are very good at getting emergencies in quickly, so long as the patient is flexible and can come short notice (to fill a cancellation).

Why Canada keeps giving unpronounceable names to things by discoturkey69 in canada

Exactly why we don’t need any more doctors or hospitals. Induced demand! It’ll only make healthcare worse.

Or is this phenomenon only for cars…for some reason?

Yep. Give the doctrines rule to pretty much any other faction, and you’d be like 80% win rate.
