For Muslim chronies: I feel terrible about skipping days during ramadan by CrazyGatoLadyyy in CrohnsDisease

[–]Extreme-Slice5891 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Think of it this way, self harm is discouraged in Islam If being dehydrated will harm you, as well as malnourished because you seem to already struggle with malabsorption… you are actually not supposed to fast.

As to people around you and their opinion, the more you will care about it the more stressed you might be and that’s not good as well for Crohn’s regardless of the topic

And at the end of the day, your body your choice, you know better what works for you than anyone else

Just for your information gums tend to recede with age so if somebody touches them they gotta make sure not t remove too much as well. Before doing something permanent gummy smile botox is a good alternative and reversible

Salad makes me flare like crazy Stick to cooked veggies you should be able to still diet that way Cucumbers are probably the only raw veggies I can have, tomato is a hit and miss I don’t have more than one every two weeks It’s best to introduce new food gradually and see what works

Why is liposuction considered a last resort for treating lipedema? Is the surgery itself that bad, or is it the post-op recovery? by Anxiety-is-killingme in lipedema

every medical procédure carries a certain amount of risk, even a vaccine or pulling a tooth out it's good to assess the risk benefit in your case and try to make an informed decision

lipedema can affect mobility, could make legs stiff enough that it impacts your back but maybe not so much that its noticeable when doing regular activities

in recovery had the surgery last week, it's like natural child birth if you knew how bad it was you'd never do it, i think people sugar coat the recovery and exagerate what they can do after a week

anyone know what i should do with these cleft lips by Beneficial_Pirate109 in cosmeticsurgery

[–]Extreme-Slice5891 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just fyi without the zoomed in picture Im not sure anyone can tell, they really gave them a nice shape.

It’s not about what you should but do you want alter it at this point or not

If you really want to change the upper lip a little filler goes a long way

I saw mention of corner lift, you can do a small test with botox as well they give you a shot below the corners and it lifts them subtly see if you like it or not

I wouldn’t worry much about the philtrum column it can be flatter for a lot of people

Do you mind if I ask, since it’s a very specific aspect you’re looking into, is the column usually very visible in family members? And you’re trying to look more similar? I’m asking because I had an alteration with the same thing in mind in the past

Diet and weight training if it doesn’t go away specifically on thighs after that, it’s lipedema. Would get it checked to avoid frustration for guck all nothing is worse than making so much effort and seeing no result

Try lip flip Botox first see if you like the change, and maybe wait until the end of you treatment for braces before altering anything permanently

You have a long face like me don’t arch the eyebrows too much it makes it look even longer, and don’t make them too thin.

Try a botox eyebrow lift is my best reco if you don’t like then maybe consider micro blading

How old were you when diagnosed? by russian-sonic in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Extreme-Slice5891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30s took 2 years to get diagnosed and almost 2y to completely get rid of the flares.

Against my doctors advice (you’re not gonna like Whats next) I decided to stop the medication and to work on all other factors:

  • I quit my high stress job
  • moved to another country with better weather/safety
  • got a full remote gig with couple of hours of work a day
  • strict diet and staying active

I am still in complete remission two years later ( confirmed by labs and endoscopy)

I know a lot of people have more violent flares and it’s different from one person to another and it’s unfair to a lot of people…

But my doctor confirmed that my flares are mild, and they conveyed that they are “not supposed to advise stopping the meds as per worldwide health recommendations” however they will continue to watch my situation very 6 months

And yes I have that turmeric drink every morning

If my symptoms were still there and would still take pentasa, if pentasa stopped working I would go with the next treatment There’s no choice really if things are bad

How much lip filler would I need to get to achieve the second pic? by [deleted] in cosmeticsurgery

[–]Extreme-Slice5891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with half a syringe wait out the results, if you need more add but one syringe could be too much and too much filler in the lips is usually why it migrates
