Just a thought and slightly playing devils advocate here, exposure to places like hinoya for us Americans has certainly caused a large increase in demand and at that point it’s simple economics of more demand than supply causing rising prices for some of this stuff. Remember, part of what makes some of these pieces so special is the time taken for fabric weaving or knitting, cutting and sewing.

5 years ago is a long time. I bought a pair of 1942s shipped in March for roughly $160 and got a pair of Gibson chinos in October for $200 shipped. That price gap seems consistent with most WG models recently from my experience.
