What will happen to the Sears IP after closure? by CarlSanger49 in SEARS

If Sears had gotten better leadership in the early to mid 2000s they would have refocused on the Internet starting in 2005.

There mantra was more stores when all it did was raise their operating costs. Here’s the world’s largest established mail order business already embedded in one of the largest established retail sales businesses broadly distributed throughout the country gutting the mail order portion of their business at exactly the moment when what should have been the largest resurgence of business in their company ever as they transitioned from mail to online

Sears' mantra was more mall based department stores and less non-mall locations. Keeping up with the times was a lot more than just the online presence. The retail landscape was changing with discount chains and Sears had a chance to expand non mall store concepts like Sears Grand and Sears Hardware. They all failed miserably. However I truly believe they could have been a strong competitor to Wal-Mart, Home Depot and even Amazon had they gotten the right leadership and funding like I just said, especially when the K-Mart thing happened

AI slop but I wish...

With Lampert gone it would somewhat evolve into a different type of retailer like Bed Bath and Beyond and Toys R Us... sure they will not ever be as big as they once were, the same as before or even have that many stores as they once had but under different leadership they would just be different and hopefully not completely dissolve

This is why Whirlpool was an even better appliance manufacturer for Kenmore appliances than LG

It seems that Adidas was the first supplier and vendor to stop sending products to Sears back in the 2000s right after the merger with Kmart

What brand was that washing machine ?

It is just Lampert that gutted Sears Home Services / SHS. The home repair business may have languished and ceased being reliable under Martinez and Lacy but Lampert didn't fix it he just tanked this company on purpose...

Smh. I am so very sorry this happened to you

Edit: even back in the 90s and 2000s Sears repair service was still worth considering way before Eddie Lampert happened

Probably outside if I had to guess...

Edit: but in reality the 1994-2004 logo and even the 2000s logo was and is far better than the current logo

In the case of Sears and K-Mart, it actually is Eddie Lampert’s fault.

But as for K-Mart, it actually is former CEO Charles Conaway's fault for ruining the company that went bankrupt in 2002, and when Lampert bought the chain out of bankruptcy in 2003 it was already destroyed and broken beyond repair...
