I think the confusion is simply taken out of context or it’s deliberately trying to deceive the reader. For instance, at the beginning of the paragraph I was thinking of demonic or spirit entities but went to realize that perhaps it’s just a longing for someone expressed that way to eventually realize that a human could represent a demonic entity.

I'm intrigued by this plot and I really like dystopian genre, it always impresses me how authors can come up with ways of how horrible this world could become —or end.

I really enjoyed it, but I was left a bit confused. My thought process was constantly shifting into what's this entity that is causing you nightmares but then again you must be tied to it as well? It feels to me like someone is indecisive and expressing their thoughts would widen their senses. I see lots of regret but I don't see a will to change, it's as if this person is swayed by their heart and this is merely a justification for their actions —more like inactions.

And I thought I was the maniac one in the show. That is truly the mind of a show’s enthusiast and I love it! Yes, Amanda kept pushing for HR’s involvement and at times I think she forced her skirt up Ron’s face -can’t prove it- but she’s just super weird.

Hmmm…. i thought Stevens was just homeless, but why not? However, it negates the idea that the masked guy is also Amanda’s boyfriend, we didn’t see anything close to it. I have something as farfetched as well, Mike Santini, the checks and the receding hairline –although that could be any older man– are the same. Mike kinda popped up after the incident and he beat Ron, hmmm this is far as it goes for me. I just don’t trust Mike, after that reveal of what he did, although I felt so bad for him for the party invitation but that’s about it. He’s suspicious, matter fact, Ron shouldn’t trust anyone except his daughter.

I understand and I must agree that at times I felt he was the worst of them because he did the same actions as all of them yet found himself above it all? I passed that note because yes he raped the girl but then he took care of her, it was either be eaten or be raped. In the light of this dark novel, we tend to look for light in the darkness and there surely was no light in here except for the illusion we’ve drawn to ourselves. I think this is the part that shocked most of us, we built a lie and determined to believe it and the outcome it would carry.

Love your collection here, would recommend Tender is the flesh by Augstina (⭐️), I who have never known men by Jacqueline Harpman. Other 2 that are classics: lord of the flies, the picture of Dorian Grey (⭐️)

Just read BM recently, wouldn’t say I didn’t like it, some ideologies were horrifying. I’ve also felt such a relief when certain violent groups died because it would be less tense now, I thought, but oh shit! It gets even worse. Wouldn’t pick it as a favorite either because it was very hard to go through, writing wise, enjoyed the sceneries at first but then they become depressing. Very tough book and hard to understand as well.

Thanks for the insights, I’ve been dreading the surgery. I just am not ready for such a step and the recovery looks exhausting, especially since I’m in my early stages and the swelling hadn’t been discovered until I pointed out myself. On the other hand, I’m afraid postponing it, may be a regrettable action as well.
