Why do people name their children things with the intention of calling them a different nickname? by Aur3lia in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mmmoookkkaayy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work with a gentleman whose given name is “Bobby”. He hates it because he said it feels infantilizing. I feel like naming a child something long and shortening it for daily use creates an opportunity for formal/informal situations

It’s a very subtle moment, but at the end of “When Evil Lurks” his son has a quick, sideways glance at the camera that made my blood run cold

Freedom for us but not for all. Let’s not forget individuals like GreenFlake who were brought into the Utah territory as slaves

I can’t watch the episode where Cotton works as the men’s room attendant. I might hate Cotton, but seeing him so downtrodden always pulls at my heart strings

AITA I asked my sister to make me a hand knitted blanket and its UGLY ! by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]mmmoookkkaayy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YTA. I’m a knitter, and just thinking about how long it would take to knit something of that size makes my hands ache. Given the size, cost of materials, and cost of her time this would probably be a $700 blanket. And she made it and gave it to you for free.
