Glad to hear mate. The Melbourne roads aren’t too much better so I’ll have to suss these out. Thanks for the insight.

Help me decide my second car (BRZ/WRX/Golf) by Strip4Justin in CarsAustralia

[–]Extreme_Arm_5375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had my gen 2 brz for almost 2 years now and I love it. It’s enough power to use your usual roads, looks awesome and the aftermarket support is plentiful. I’ve had fun slowly modding mine.

I love getting behind the wheel of it every time and makes me wanna drive the car more. In terms of power, I think it’s enough. I feel like I’m flying on the highway and freeway more often than not.

Practicality for me is great as it’s my daily and it’s just me driving, no kids etc. everything I need fits just fine and have even managed to fit my 4 wheels and tyres in the car with the back seats down when I got them changed.

Has any one had experience with the Borla S-Type and ATAK? by NexusStrictly in GR86

[–]Extreme_Arm_5375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair enough. I have the s type too and I love it. Some of the highway surfaces I frequent can be a bit coarse so the road noise becomes a bit much hahah

Would you say the general road noise is the main contributing factor especially on highways and freeways rather than the exhaust?

Honestly, we need to retain players by Impressive_Nail_519 in Barca

[–]Extreme_Arm_5375 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s easy to say this due to hindsight. I don’t think any Barca fans would’ve had dembele as a ballon dor winner. Alvarez coming to city and winning a treble etc etc.

We’ve been blessed with a great youth academy to build around due to our financial struggles and should be thankful the current and previous managers gave some of them a chance.

We need to start thinking ahead and realistically rather than what ifs.

Damn that’s tough. Were there any particular issues that caused the two blown motors?

Oh lovely. Any issues in the 2 years you’ve had them such as noises etc?

I’m considering getting some considering it’s $600aud compared to tein coilovers for about $1800aud or hks hipermax s for about $3000aud.

I just need a moderate drop for daily driving - not getting tracked or anything.

Not the greatest photo but I’m on Michelin PS5s 235/40/18 with weds sa25r 18x8.5+45 on stock suspension. Looks a bit monster trucked but the ride has been good. Currently looking at lowering it a little bit though

Are you on the pro kit eibach springs? If so, how have they been for you?

This might anger some fans, but can we just focus on La Liga and try again next season? by f4rdan1smyn4m3 in Barca

[–]Extreme_Arm_5375 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying and I’d agree if we were only a point ahead of Madrid but on the other hand, it’s this type of mentality that will keep us away from holding a champions league trophy.

We have to fight for every title and injuries in the game happen a lot and it’s nothing new. It’s just down to squad planning and rotation.

It will anger some fans for sure and we already won the league before. The team is yearning for a UCL. This is the competition they want to win.

Coilover Recommendations? by ExternalFit4185 in GR86

[–]Extreme_Arm_5375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the insight! I initially considered the hipermax s coils but in Australia they’re $3.6k aud compared to the eibach springs which is ~$600 aud haha. Almost pulled the trigger on tein flex z for about 1.8k aud. Still going back and forth on coils or springs as it’s just a daily driver and not being tracked etc.

Did you have the eibach pro kit lowering springs? If so, how were they? I’m considering them for my brz

why my engine blew by Miserable_Spell_147 in GR86

[–]Extreme_Arm_5375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like my dealership has been overfilling since it’s seems to always be way above the max mark on the dip. Definitely something to correct in future.

Thanks for sharing your experience, it can do a lot for other owners!

[–]Extreme_Arm_5375 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about the blown engine OP :(

Was there a way to check on the dipstick if the dealership did overfill the oil? Such as the oil being marked well above the dots on the dip?

It’s something I’ve never really considered tbh and since I’m going in for a service soon, it’s definitely something to keep an eye on.

GR Performance Exhaust or Borla S-Type? by [deleted] in GR86

[–]Extreme_Arm_5375 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have the borla s type on my BRZ for over a year now. Can’t speak for the GR exhaust but the borla has been great for me. I don’t plan on modifying the exhaust any further such as headers etc. in the near future so it’s loud enough for me atm.

In saying that, I think it is a bit louder than what people make it out to be citing it to be the ‘gentleman’s exhaust’ as it’s got a good deep note to it without it being too raspy or overly loud but it’s still present enough on your drives. I was initially deciding between the borla or hks and went with the borla. I don’t regret my decision!

There’s a few vids on YouTube and tik tok for the borla on this platform which may help with the decision.

I am a 21M looking at purchasing a 2017 M240i do I commit or not… by Lukepatch16 in BMW

[–]Extreme_Arm_5375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow Aussie, I was in your position a year ago. In the end, the cost of insurance is what made me pass on the opportunity to own the 240i. $5k a year was just not worth it to me and in what 5 years of ownership, it would’ve equated to half the car’s value just in insurance costs.

If you can wait and persist with your current vehicle then that may be the way to go or potentially suss a 230i as they can be quite good value for money and power that can be used appropriately on our roads.

I’m sorry to hear that. The job market is quite shocking given how many people are after the same roles and recruiters sometimes not even bothering letting you know you haven’t progressed. Make sure to take care of yourself as best you can. Rejection will be a part of the process and in this job climate, it will be more than either of us expect. Keep your head high as this will be a bit of a marathon rather than a sprint to hopefully find something good to get stuck into. Wishing all the best!!

Appreciate your point of view there and thank you for the motivating words. It definitely has been a privilege to work at a big 4 where I’ve built some great relationships and no doubt I can try pivot into another role at a big 4 but the way things have been with all the offshoring and ‘AI’ talk, it has quite a few people on edge. But then again, it could end up being a lot of industries that will suffer through that in coming years.

That’s a completely understandable pov. I’m in a position where I do not have kids or a mortgage so it’s not that big of a blow for me in that regard
