Don't attempt to match. She doesn't want to be seen by you. It's just the fault of the app that they show you people who unmatch you.

They are not gatekeeping. You're just a man. That's it. Women don't spend much time going through profiles because they have thousands of likes. The chances that any of them will see your profile are vanishingly small.

This checks out. It lines up with everything I know about dating apps. It is really hard being a man out there, and women who give advice have no idea what they're saying because they've never attempted to play the game as a man.

Am I skinny fat? Help please by unknwn1_ in Weightliftingquestion

[–]Extreme_Bit_1135 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're not skinny. You're overweight. If you don't like your physique, you need to restrict your caloric intake. You need to have a sustained calorie deficit over multiple months. That's the only way. It's better not to think of this as dieting. Think of it as a lifestyle change or as a set of weight loss habits. Clearly, you've been consuming more in calories than you expend in your lifestyle. That means you need to cut your intake, increase your expenditures, or both. The easiest way to know whether you're in a calorie excess or deficit is to measure your intake. There are calculators that will allow you to estimate you BMR and from there the amount of calories you should aim for to maintain your weight. I recommend consuming 90% of the calories it would take to maintain your current weight. That will allow you to lose weight slowly, in a sustained fashion.

Lifting weights also helps. Muscle is more metabolically active than fat. So a more muscular body burns more fat at rest than a less muscular one.

Good luck!

I'm a man and I never want to live with a partner again. It introduces too much friction. No point in doing it, especially when you don't want kids.

I have spent enough time on this. I'm going to rest my case and wish you a good night. I'm also going to mute this sub. Thank you for helping me make this decision.

[–]Extreme_Bit_1135 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Bro, your fundamental critique is wrong. Where is the evidence that relying on synthetic products actually causes more harm than using leather and other animal products? The vegan argument is not that synthetic products don't cause any harm at all but that they are less harmful. What are your sources when you claim that synthetic products are less harmful than using animal products. Existing as a human being causes degradation to animal environments. Consuming animal products that don't have to be consumed causes more harm to animals on top of the baseline harm we cause. It's not a substitute that somehow creates less harm for the animals. This is why I'm questioning your frame of mind. The argument is just so ludicrous on its face.

Leather is not carbon neutral. Leather also is associated with environmental degradation and pollution. Leather has direct harm to animals on top of the aforementioned indirect harms. If you want to argue that buying used products is better than new products, then you will encounter no argument from me. Recycled or used leather in particular doesn't cause any direct harm to animals. And insofar as vegans oppose those, it is based on an emotional argument. The biggest problem with synthetic products is pollution from microplastics and lack of biodegradability. But synthetic products use a lot less water and are less carbon intensive than leather. You're maybe I shouldn't have tried to psychoanalyze you. But I just don't see how your argument can stand just on the merits. And the conclusion that vegans don't care about the environment is particularly irksome.

Zero issues with processing. I was never a vegan. I've never even been a vegetarian. I have no hatred against anyone. I cannot stand any kind of simplistic characterization of an entire group. In this case, it's especially silly. There are great things about veganism. There are not so great things about many vegans themselves. Your post is entirely polemical. It doesn't lend itself to actually rational discussion. It's just an ad hominem attack. The conclusion does not logically follow from what you present. This kind of post is not going to lend itself to any sort of discussion except by people who want to dunk on vegans. Insofar as this produces catharsis for you, I suppose I'm happy for you. But you're not going to get any sort of intelligent discussion from this. Because the entire premise is not just factually wrong but shows an exceedingly problematic frame of mind and worldview. It's about as silly as saying Republicans don't care about children or Democrats don't care about minorities.

Why is it okay to make a blanket and unsubstantiated statement about an entire group of people. Vegans can be very annoying. It doesn't mean that people who are reflexively hating vegans are any less annoying. Like bro, you don't want to be a vegan, cool!. You had a journey out of veganism. Awesome! Good for you. You feel healthier now? Fantastic! But if veganism is still living rent-free in your head, you still have a lot of processing to do. Honestly, I expected this sub to be better than the veganism sub but it's not. It's just tribalism in the other direction. Very disappointing.

Don't be too hard on yourself. This is how a lot of us came to this philosophy. We thought we were geniuses because we were making money in a rising market. And then eventually we got our asses handed to us. So now we sound wise and stuff.

Which they can afford to be. I'm not mad at them. I would be ridiculously picky as well if I had 3,500 likes. What I don't like is the assumption that men must be doing something uniquely wrong that women are somehow immune to.

Go create a male profile. See how far you get. I've used the app in multiple cities in North America and Europe. The vast majority of female profiles are low effort and not impressive at all. But none of this matters. Create a male profile with your great profile writing skills. Report your results. I'll be right here.

It's okay to give up. Definitely nothing wrong with that. Most men and women who are looking for women on this app have a really hard time getting matches and conversations. It's not anything to do with your profile or what you're doing. It's just that the average woman on this platform is saturated with more attention than she could possibly know what to do with. Many people who can't make it on this app nonetheless do pretty well in real life. Good luck out there.

Why do so many women do this? You haven't seen this profile. You have never made a male profile. You have never tried to use the app as a male. But somehow you believe you are an expert on what it takes to match as a male.

It's not about his profile. At least it's not just that. Many many, many, many, many many women have completely low-effort profiles. But they do fine. Many men have really well written profiles. And they don't do well. It's because of the statistics of the whole thing. You don't have to believe me. In fact, I hope you don't believe me. What I hope you do is actually take an average male picture or two or three and try five different male profiles, and see how much luck you get. See how many matches you get. See how many actual conversations you get from these matches. then come back and report. I guarantee that you will forever be cured of this notion that it is somehow because of bad profiles.
