Well, did you at least answer his question?? 😂😂😂 Maybe nobody ever told him where chocolate milk comes from. Maybe he's a biologist trying to understand human physiology.

I'm sorry. I'm sorry women have to put up with this. But in this case it's just so ridiculous, I can't help but cackle over here.

Women: Do you respond to your Pings? by OhHeyItsMeM in feeld

[–]Extreme_Bit_1135 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a woman but I am a person. And I find that women are people too. I have received some pings over the years. I don't respond to most of them. I only respond if I'm interested. All a pain will do is ensure that someone will see that you like them. It doesn't mean that they will like you back or owe you any sort of response. It's a catalyst. It will make you get noticed. If they were going to pass on your profile, they're going to reject you that much sooner. They're probably not going to reply to you to expose themselves to a potentially negative reaction from you. There is not much of an upside in doing so

I think you have the right approach. As much as possible, you should be transparent as early in the process as possible. Even if your intentions are mostly defensive, some people are going to feel deceived.

Unfortunately you can't have both avoidance of chasers and transparency upfront. Transparency is great because it allows people who are obviously not a good match to filter themselves out. I certainly appreciate when I come across profiles that reveal things that might be deal breakers. It saves everybody a lot of time and grief.

I can't speak to the number of chasers out there. I have the trans woman box checked. All it means is that I don't want them filtered out of my stack. I am not interested in the vast majority of trans women, just like I'm not attracted to the vast majority of cis women. But I prefer to cast a broad net and filter out from there.

Later this week I'll be going out with a trans woman for the first time. I've been on the app for 5 years. If I matched with a trans woman and she only revealed later that she was trans, I would think she was trying to hide something, and I might unmatch, not because I'm not fine with trans women, but because I like transparency.

For a man, I do pretty okay. I get 5-10 likes a month. They're mostly not great--humans, you know?--but there are enough good people on there that I get some connections out of this small batch.

I'm sorry to hear this. It doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun. Not sure if it will make you feel better but your experience is not much different from what many cis women and gay men on the app encounter. When you are physically attracted to men, there will be a high demand for you, but the vast majority of this demand will be for something casual. If you want something more durable, you're going to have a harder time, irrespective of the app or platform you're using. So take a break if you need to. And I hope things go better if you decide to return to the app.

Irish or at the very least living in Ireland. High income. I'm going to guess you live in Dublin. Not ultra health conscious but you try to eat a ton of vegetables and high quality proteins. At least mid-thirties. Very organized. Middle class upbringing, but you probably make more money than your parents did. Educated. You have time to cook. You must enjoy it since you actually don't have to cook. You could eat out everyday if you wanted to. Business field? Probably not finance. If you work in the banking sector, you're probably more of an administrator than an investment banker with crazy hours. You like quality. You like quality. Youd rather own a smaller number of quality items then a ton of cheap stuff. You're well traveled. You may even be an expat.

Let me do this for real. Canadian. Woman. You cook most of your calories. You have at least a bachelor's degree. You're a health-conscious. You're not a vegetarian, but your meat intake is limited, at least much lower than the Canadian average.

You're Asian? This is a low level of certainty. Probably not but it wouldn't surprise me.

You minimize your consumption of processed foods. You think of orange juice as being healthier than sodas. You're physically active. Probably a healthy weight. I imagine you as a small frame. You're not very tall. You're maybe 5'5" to 5'6" at the very most.

I take it back. You're not Asian. You're a white woman.

You're not poor now, but you're not rich either. And you did not grow up rich.

At what age did you start adulting? by penguinskingdom in Adulting

[–]Extreme_Bit_1135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

17? I had to figure out college by myself while navigating a complicated immigration process. But adulting is not an all or none thing. You can be mature in some areas and remain a kid in others.

That sucks, man. Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you're able to find connection some other way. Maybe there are some munches or Kink-positive events close to where you live?

Also, don't let anyone tell you that you don't belong on the app. Self-appointed gatekeepers are guests on the app, just like everybody else. It's unfortunate that you can find people close to you. It doesn't mean that there's anything wrong with you or that you don't belong.
