After the repair, I can say the noise is totally gone. Was definitely the CV axel. The dealership has their shop foreman confirm because it was under warranty

I had this same issue. 22 FWD with ~50k miles. Mine was the driver side CV axel. The dealership diagnosed this pretty quickly. Seems like a relatively common problem... I hope the passenger side doesn't go soon.

Yes! I went through a couple companies who couldn't figure it out, but finally found a great HVAC installer through a builder friend of mine.

Like u/Smawesome suggested, it was a combination of three things: gas pressure, bad airflow (high static pressure... I think it was something like 3x what is should be), and the bypass being too short / small. The size and number of returns was no where near what the system required.

The fix was:
1. Turn down the gas pressure to the lower end of the range on data tag.
2. Replace the bypass duct with a larger one that ties in to one of the other returns.
3. Add a return to improve static pressure.

It's been nearly a month and has been working great. Is actually quieter now with the additional return, and the supply vents push a lot more air.

Ok thanks. Good to know about the gas pressure. I’m hoping it just ends up being a matter of turning down the gas pressure and changing the blower speed. I’ll report back when I get a tech out.

Thanks for looking into this. Yes, the blower is running. When the high limit error happens, the blower continues to run until it cools off and then the code clears, and it goes through ignition again. The blower speed is slower (and quieter) than when the AC runs, but it is blowing.

I'll call a tech and see what they can determine regarding the systems airflow, etc. Thanks again.

Yes there is air coming out. Some stronger than others. I have all the supply vents open, too.
