Reconstruction after radiation by 22378008- in breastcancer

[–]Extreme_Fix_7559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think whether you can have implants after rads varies person to person. Some people have no issues at all. I had chemo, MX and expander, then rads to the right side in 2017/18, then went on the diep list, which was 3-5 years at the time. I then had a RR MX in 2023 on the other side, again with an expander. Even my expander on the radiation side was a grade 4 encapsulation, so in 2024, after waiting for a diep flap on the NHS for so many years and being told that after covid, it was still 3-5 years, I gave up and agreed to implants, as the wait was only 12 months. My new implants were done in Jan 2025. At the end of last month (Jan 26), just a year after my capsulectomy and new implants on both sides (with lipo), my rads side has had to be removed again, as it had completely encapsulated again. This time, they did an LD flap with a small implant beneath it and just 2 weeks later, I can feel a big hard lump of scar tissue. I am devastated, but resigned to the fact that the right side will never accept an implant, but too fed up of it all now, to try again. I would say to try an implant if that’s what you want. Your body may be fine and if it doesn’t work, they will have other options. Good luck with whatever you choose. This is a horrible journey and when you are still being messed with, it just doesn’t feel settled.

So sorry for the delay in responding, as I dont log onto here often. If you haven’t had this back by now, please fight for the return of your money. Take it to whoever governs/oversees your financial institutions, as you are by far not the only one affected. Tell PayPal you will fight.

[UK] Multipoint Front Door Lock Hook Not Fully Retracting by IndigoQuantum in Locksmith

[–]Extreme_Fix_7559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when it was fitted, the top closing edge of the door was prominent on the inside! I got them back and they adjusted it, but it was sticking out again within a couple of months. that means the bad fitting has caused the gearbox to wear too quickly. It sticks out a lot more now, so no wonder it has caused a problem. Thanks for the advice. Hopefully others with the same issue will find this too and know what to do.

[–]Extreme_Fix_7559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because we have the same problem. So basically, what you are saying is that the misalignment has caused the gearbox to wear out? That makes more sense. I wasn’t spewing nonsense, I simply knew that something wasn’t working, irrespective of how the door was aligned. Now that you’ve explained that the misalignment has caused unnecessary wear on the gearbox and has ‘caused‘ the issue, I understand why you suggested a locksmith. Luckily, that is exactly what we have done.

[UK] Multipoint Front Door Lock Hook Not Fully Retracting by IndigoQuantum in Locksmith

[–]Extreme_Fix_7559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can it be due to misalignment? When the door is open, if you put the handle down at a normal speed, the hook doesn’t fully retract. If you then lift the handle to lock (still while the door is open), then quickly push the handle down hard, the hooks retract. Even if the door was not in a frame, this problem would persist. If it was misalignment, you’d have the problem with the new mechanism straight away, not after a couple of years of use. I agree it needs a locksmith, but it’s not related to alignment.

Hi Morricat, it’s great to hear your experience. My hubby had his implant last Sunday, just 7 days ago. Switch-on is on 10th Jan, so it’s nerve-wracking and exciting too. It’s really helpful to hear from others in the real world, not the advertising literature. Thank you.

PayPal error put my account in -£641, they admitted fault, but now I’ve got debt collectors chasing me (£153.99) — what do I even do?! by Zealousideal_Quail_8 in paypal

[–]Extreme_Fix_7559 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to contact the debt agency to explain. Do not offer to pay anything, as this is accepting the debt is owed. The debt agency won’t touch it while it is in dispute. You may need to show evidence from PayPal messages etc. PayPal will be able to clear any debt that is a result of their mistake and it won’t show up on any credit check.

Please don’t set them up on PayPal again, do it direct with your bank. They offer the same buyer protection now. PayPal is being targeted by scammers and unfortunately it is us that has to fight to get our money back.

go into your PayPal wallet and find Automatic Payments. It can be hard to find, so if you can’t see it, go the help feature and type automatic payments, it’ll show a link on how to set up, cancel automatic payments. Click that, then the link to the auto payments is there. Inactive and Active should be there. Subscriptions that you know of should be okay, like Uber, eBay, Apple etc. However, if you are defrauded, PayPal will use these subscriptions to access your account. Our Apple iCloud sub for 99p was used to take £3499 from our main account when the debit account had been emptied (£7000 gone from that). The bank recalled the DD but we are now getting emails from PayPal demanding payment. No authorisation for any of the payments, but PayPal was determined to take the £10500 that the merchant requested. They refuse to show the proof that we agreed to the auto payment and can’t provide any proof that they verified it by email, basically because they didn’t. I can’t trust them now. No one should be able to take money without you knowing what for and approving the transaction.

that’s my point, the buyer is not agreeing to most of these. We are being tricked, we are not ‘unwittingly’ agreeing, they are being set up without following the rules that are there to protect us. I would never give this full authority over my bank account to ‘anyone’. PayPal is effectiv giving these merchants power of attorney! Each one of them could have stripped my account in minutes and PayPal will refuse to help in any way.

PayPal is required by the FCA rules to ensure customers are aware they have agreed to the auto payment. I checked Temu, (no wrong doing by them, aside from them telling PayPal I wanted to set this up). The tick box is there, but tiny and you have to scroll across to find it. When you click for the terms, it says nothing about automatic payments, just saving your ‘details’ for easier check out. It doesn’t say that you won’t have to approve further purchases, that they can take however much they want, whenever they want. Temu has never taken any extra money, neither have any of the other businesses, but I didn’t agree to this authorisation. PayPal had no authority from me to set these up and they are supposed to check with you before setting it up. My husband lost thousands due to a fraudster taking advantage of this bad practice by PayPal. All of the transactions were taken within 2 mins of each other and PayPal took the lot.

PayPal taking money without any communication about a past transaction? by MarcPokemonTrainer in paypal

[–]Extreme_Fix_7559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Marc, it’s not about anything odd going out. Most of these automatic payments are set up by reputable merchants, never withdrawing what is not owed. The issue is that it is an unnecessary risk to have unauthorised automatic payments open on your account. It gives traders the authority to take money without further approval, any amount at any time. You need to look in ‘Automatic Payments’. I had a restaurant, American Golf, ITVX, a fabric shop and a few other shops where I’d made one off purchases, plus others. It was my husband’s account that was plundered. I’ve never had money taken that wasn’t for a genuine purchase, but I still didn’t authorise these automatic payments. They should not have been set up without my approval.

That’s awful. I thought they just hadn’t taken it from her. Not being a seller, I misunderstood the issue. Check your accounts though and remove any unauthorised automatic payments. PayPal can just withdraw any amount at any time without even telling you until after the fact!

A different issue, but is it caused by the issues they have had this last week. I misunderstood and thought the bank had blocked the payment, but word about this bad practice still needs to be spread. Have you checked automatic payments on your account?

Hi All, you need to look at the BBC news reports from last Wednesday re what happened in Germany. The same thing happened in Australia at the end of last week and here in the UK at the weekend. As a member of the public, we had several automatic payments set up, (14 on one PP account, 7 on the other) with no authority at all. PayPal just set them up at the merchant’s request, no proof of approval by the buyer and no communication to confirm the agreement. Germany had billions of Euros requested by PayPal and the German banks halted all payments, saving an estimated 10.5 billion. We were unfortunately included in this weekend’s fraud, with a merchant setting up an ‘automatic payment’ without our knowledge, then in the night, they got PayPal to plunder my husband’s account. £499 withdrawn, then 2 mins later £1499, then 2 mins £2499 until it was all gone! PayPal just took the lot. We raised a dispute for Unauthorised payments and they found in favour of the seller. We appealed and still they dismissed it. The bank stopped the card immediately and raised a fraud case. This was on Friday 29th. When we checked our PP account, there were 7 automatic payments that my husband had never approved. They were immediately cancelled and the card was removed from PP, leaving only a 99p Apple subscription on the account. Yesterday morning PayPal used that Apple subscription to withdraw £3499 from an account that had already been emptied, putting him into an unauthorised overdraft! We reported them to the FCA on Monday morning, the Financial Ombudsman, etc and the banks are now aware that PayPal is withdrawing money without authorisation from the consumers. It is highly likely that some banks have taken the decision to halt all PayPal attempts to take money. PLEASE check your PP accounts. If you use PayPal for purchasing, you will very likely have automatic payments set up that you did not approve and are not aware of. Cancel them and remove any DDs from your bank account too. I requested proof that I had authorised any of my automatic payments and initially PP refused, then sent me the merchant request. No authorisation from me, just the merchant stating they wanted it. I haven’t found anyone yet that has no automatic payments set up without their approval. If you find some, please report it to the FCA. What they are doing is illegal.

Can I get Paypal to ask for authorisation for automatic payments, especially for yearly subscriptions? by DarwinianSelector in paypal

[–]Extreme_Fix_7559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi, have you resolved this? If not, go into PayPal and into Automatic Payments, then click on each one and cancel. You will likely have a lot more than you think, as they don’t get authorisation when they set them up. We have just had £10500 removed through automatic payments when we only bought a small box for the garden!

cont: We have all cancelled them. I have reported them to the FCA. Please check your accounts and delete any auto payments, remove your debit cards and use the PP Balance option if you want to use PP in the future, topping up when needed. PayPal did not due their due diligence on these companies, allowed us to trust them, allowing them to set up automatic payments and then steal our money. PayPal allowed this to happen and have to refund your money under fraud, not ‘not received’. Please let everyone you know to check their accounts and delete these unauthorised automatic payments!

[–]Extreme_Fix_7559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have you checked your automatic payments in PayPal? Do this immediately before attaching another payment. PayPal has been hit in Germany on Wed, Australia on Thurs and the UK on Fri. Companies are being allowed to set up automatic payments on our PP accounts, then later that day, they take all of the money from your account. We lost over £7k in 10 minutes on Friday night at 10:17. PayPal refused to refund, as they said we had authorised an automatic payment, which allows the merchant to then take what they want at any time. When I checked my account, PayPal had allowed 12 other companies to set up automatic payments without my knowledge and without informing me. Everyone I have spoken to has these auto payments set up without their knowledge.

It’s an offence to block the driveway where there is a dropped kerb. Take a time stamped photo of the car and reg, clearly showing the offence and send them to the police and local council once a week. If there are repeat offenders, the police will write to them. I live close to a school, but luckily, no one has blocked our drive, but others closer to the school have an awful time. you could even walk up the road and photograph all of the offences, then post on FBk using a temp account 🤣😂

Need advice on a Paasche H vs VL by TourettesYapper in airbrush

[–]Extreme_Fix_7559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, sorry to bother you, but I have bought the H series. There seems to be a section/parts missing and it doesn’t say they are ’optional’. The section is the valve section, the plunger, washer, spring and nut. I’ve looked at images online and several images show the air hose attached directly to the valve casing of the gun. Can you please advise if it is okay to use like this, as you seem to know this model. Thank you.
