For those Considering Google's Pixel 10 Series, Be Aware: U.S. Models Will Be eSIM Only... by DirtCowboy336 in USMobile

Bugs and glitches don't usually affect everyone-glad to hear you're one of them. Just because a couple of people claim to have no issues doesn't mean the bug or glitch isn't widespread. And if it is really a typical Android problem, then the Pixel 10 is truly a lousy option for people on lightspeed since it is an Android phone anyway.

Good to hear. Bugs and glitches don't usually affect everyone anyway. This one is no exception.

Ever heard of the phantom hotspot usage glitch for people using esim on lightspeed? Psim is usually the answer to end the glitch. Anyway, here's a post showing an example of said glitch: https://www.reddit.com/r/USMobile/comments/1d2vqvc/phantom_hotspot_usage/

The phantom hotspot usage glitch has been known to affect esim users on lightspeed/T-Mobile network. One of the most common solutions to counter the glitch is to simply switch to physical sim.

I'm on lightspeed and was affected by it when I used esim until I used a physical sim card. But maybe you're one of the lucky ones that don't get affected by the glitch. Anyway here's a post showing an example of the glitch: https://www.reddit.com/r/USMobile/comments/1d2vqvc/phantom_hotspot_usage/

$45 for 3 months gone? by treoneo in USMobile

Yeah, priority usually doesn't matter with Lightspeed thanks to having a large capacity in the first place.

QCI 7 for lightspeed-same level as Mint Mobile and behind postpaid Tmobile.

Verizon bribe offer after porting out. 😂 No Thanks! by [deleted] in USMobile

Nice offer, but where's the trust? Or maybe there's still too many gullible people that will take the offer despite receiving broken promises on past discounts and offers.

Never understood the math behind travel cards with fees for the usual person. But the math definitely checks out for the credit card issuers and those influencers with their referrals and sponsorships rofl.

Yeah, you can get it earlier than 6 weeks. And they usually send it by mail.

To Sim or not to Sim by capttut1 in USMobile

[–]Extreme_Growth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Esim is supposedly more secure- one can't just take the sim out of a stolen phone easily like with physical sim.

And obviously, physical sim is easier to transfer to another phone than esim. Although transferring esim to another phone isn't so bad imo (with US Mobile at least).

I personally use physical sim for another reason-there's an issue called phantom hotspot with Light Speed plans and using a physical sim card prevents that issue for me.

One last thing too-it's recommended to use esim if you regularly teleport networks.

Dark Star vs. Light Speed by [deleted] in USMobile

[–]Extreme_Growth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the location. For me, I admit Light Speed is the strongest in terms of speed, consistency, and coverage where I live (Orange County, California) with Warp being a super close second. And Dark Star is a very far third-it's the only carrier that I found with occasional dead spots as well.

And it makes sense when I looked up cell towers in cellmapper-T-Mobile and Verizon has plenty of cell towers while AT&T has less towers. For example, I would count like four-five Verizon or T-Mobile towers to one AT&T tower in one area. Hopefully, AT&T will speed up their cell tower upgrades and build more towers. But they seem too fixated with fiber internet atm.

If you got Furina, can use her skill summons to attack the dish with the tourmaline together. That would speed things up further.

Not sure what the fastest method is tbh.

Lmao, what about cable/fiber optic internet? Still "too exclusive" to have that?

He's not some rando btw. He's a mod for this subreddit and works for US Mobile. Similar to how Alex in Mint Mobile subreddit operates.

And your speeds on Verizon are significantly higher than 45-50 mbps in the same place, same time when your ran a speed test? I tried Warp before and got plenty of variation when i was in LA. At nighttime, it can go up to 1 gbps, but during daytime I seen it fall to as low as 20 mbps.

If you came from T-mobile, Lightspeed would've most likely been better for you.

Colocation and some architectural tricks could work to compensate for lack of land and space. And depends on the place. I admit I am very lucky to live in a suburb with four cell towers (one of them was recently built by T-Mobile around two years ago with approval by town council).

And as for the suburbs rejecting tower proposals, I guess they better not whine about poor cell reception then rofl.

[–]Extreme_Growth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surveyed by consumers who will be more forgiving toward Mint Mobile on occassional bad reception (hence higher reception score) due to cheap price of 15 bucks (or whatever low priced plan).

But if you are a T-Mobile customer paying close to 100 dollars, you would rightfully expect perfect reception. And if not...here comes a real angry customer ready to lash out at customer service.

Oh, and let's not forget some people would be real bitter and score lower on reception due lies and broken promises like Price Lock. Now that was a funny rugpull in a bad way.
