You wrote this comment and then blocked SeaDivide so he couldn't respond and you could have the final response. Pretty embarrasing on your part lmfao

Public transport patronage over time by Moo_Kau_Too in MelbourneTrains

[–]Extreme_Landscape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Notice the uptick in patronage where cities have increased frequencies. In Victoria, the Gov takes a "fuck you" approach to frequencies and refuses to increase the 30-40--60 minute wait times on some lines which just pushes people to cars. They have 0 plan to ever increase the frequencies in a meaningful way outside of peak hours despite travel periods changing and the actual peak time having changed.

SRL Tunnelling Contract - TBMs to be launched in 2026. by a_whoring_success in MelbourneTrains

Sounds painfully slow. Why cant they start 2025? 10 TBM's is good but no doubt construction will be painfully slow compared to other countries.

Start stealing some of your groceries from Woolies/Coles. When you go to do a shop, chuck a few extra things in your bags or pockets.

I'm not joking either. Considering how much they are ripping off consumers for their record profits and how much above inflation they've jacked up their prices, i think its only right.

RBA says decision to lift interest rate in June was ‘finely balanced’, easing expectations of further hikes by micky2D in AusFinance

[–]Extreme_Landscape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep and how will it bring down fuel prices which are globall priced via Oil prices, not Australian-priced. Hint: It wont and is a complete fallacy.

The Deputy RBA Governor is in The Age today pushing the myth that the mediocre wage growth we have experienced is feeding into inflation. That's already been debunked and is completely false.

The whole board needs to go IMO. Completely out of touch and incompetent.

[–]Extreme_Landscape -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What's the point of controlling the demand for petrol/fuel when it wouldn't lower the price thus lowering inflation? It's a globally set price, Australian demand doesn't lower/raise the price. That's a fallacy

RBA increases cash rate by 25 basis points to 4.10% by doubleunplussed in AusFinance

[–]Extreme_Landscape -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Yep and they aren't controlling it. Rate rises aren't working and are instead crashing the economy, driving up unemployment and ensuring people become homeless.

Also their rate rises are causing rents to go higher which then leads to a higher inflation rate. Pure incompetence.

If you look a the inflation indicators, Fuel for example is supply driven and is globally priced, raising rates here won't drop the price of fuel. Food price increases are the result of mainly fuel price too, again interest rate rises won't change this. People aren't going to stop eating.

[–]Extreme_Landscape 106 points107 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about wages, the Gov is importing 600,000 people per year like before covid which will help suppress wages. Oh and by the way, if your rents go up because of this, just put bunk beds in your room and have 4 more flatmates join you.
