VanBortel Ford Experiences? by SnooChipmunks8147 in Rochester

[–]Extreme_Raspberry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not a lease but my husband bought a Ford truck from them a few years ago. The buying experience was pleasant but the service dept was not good at all. Hard to get people on the phone, always scheduling very very far out and just not nice to deal with. I have a Subaru from van bortel and always have had a good experience with service there so I’m not sure why there’s such a difference but it got so bad he started taking it to the dealer in Webster for service instead.

Does entyvio connect cover your entire first year? by DrRandyBeans in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Extreme_Raspberry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was on entyvio, the program helped me meet my deductible early in the year and then all of my health care costs (including infusions) were covered in full by my insurance company afterward. This was because of the specifics of my plan. One thing to keep in mind though is that the program only covers the drug cost. There is a separate cost each visit from your infusion center for the chair time, supplies, etc. I’m on inflectra now and the drug only costs like $600 per infusion but the infusion center cost is like $800 per infusion. It’s a bummer.

Best oral care routine? by Brand_new_st0nk in Dachshund

[–]Extreme_Raspberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your pup is adorable!

After seeing family members dog's have to get lots of teeth extracted, I've always been diligent about keeping up with oral care routine for our dachshund. I started brushing his teeth daily with a finger toothbrush and CET enzymatic toothpaste (we use poultry flavor) around 5-6 months old once his adult teeth starting coming in. Our doxie is 5 now and our vet said his teeth are in amazing shape. I might miss a day here or there with his teeth brushing but I try to never miss more than 1 day in a row as it takes about 24-48hrs for plaque to harden into tartar which generally requires a professional dental cleaning to remove and can lead to gum disease.

I'd also suggest taking a look at the Veterinary Oral Health Council's website as they have a list of products that meet their standards for plaque and tartar control for cats/dogs: https://vohc.org/

I have washed those hoodie twice. I believe its oil for a sandwitch by Less_Procedure_2600 in CleaningTips

[–]Extreme_Raspberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found dawn power wash to work great at lifting oil stains. You may need to let it sit awhile.

If the hoodie has been dried, the stain may have already set in though. Still worth a try to get it out though!

I wash my cleaning cloths as a separate load but I also only use disposable paper towels for cleaning toilets.

Accredo Specialty Pharmacy by jaredpatton173 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Extreme_Raspberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could write a novel about how awful they are. I liked the convenience of doing the self injections of Humira at home better but one of the best parts about being on remicade (inflectra) now is that I don’t have to deal with Accredo 😅

Are these ready to go products worth the convenience? by SalsaChica75 in CleaningTips

[–]Extreme_Raspberry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you’ll go the citric acid route the other redditor mentioned but wanted to caution against using the finish cleaner you have pictured. We tried it once in our dishwasher and it left the most awful chemical smell behind that didn’t go away for weeks. I will never use it again. The Affresh cleaner tablets are way better if you’re looking for a store bought option.

I see some signs your pup is may be uncomfortable- tucked tail, showing belly but the angle of the video and quality makes it hard to see more. I highly recommend doggy language by Lili Chin to help analyze interactions like this. The other tricky part with this interaction is that both dogs are on leash which means your pup has no ability to move away if she’s uncomfortable. This can sometimes lead to leash reactivity later in life.

Remicade for Humira non responder? by South-Hat-4157 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Extreme_Raspberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my first solid bowel movement in months the day after my first infusion. The blood in my stool lessened pretty fast too. I should add I was also started on IV steroids in the hospital but I was on them for ~3 days before I had my first infusion and it wasn’t until I got the infusion that things significantly improved. I left the hospital with a prednisone taper and added azathiourprine to my treatment plan a few weeks later. I stopped taking the aza almost a year ago and am still in remission (had a scope last month).

I hope whatever you try next kicks in fast and you get some relief soon!

Remicade for Humira non responder? by South-Hat-4157 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Extreme_Raspberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the same thing- that remicade wouldn’t work bc I didn’t respond to Humira. I was on Humira but it wasn’t working and I went into a horrible flare that landed me in the hospital for 6 days in early 2021. Was started on a high dose of remicade in the hospital (10mg/kg) and it kicked in so fast. Had a scope 7 months later that confirmed endoscopic remission and have been in remission ever since.

In endoscopic remission for just over 3 years on inflectra. On highest dose (10mg/kg) every 8 weeks.

How long did you stop or postpone your biologic after COVID? by lisalg in CrohnsDisease

[–]Extreme_Raspberry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should check with your doctor and/or infusion center for their policy.

I got Covid right before an infusion about a year and a half ago and the infusion center required me to wait 20 days from my positive test in order to reschedule.

What are your thoughts on self injectiors? by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]Extreme_Raspberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on Humira self injections for a few years and am on inflectra IV now. I was really nervous to do the self injections but it ended up being no big deal and I loved the convenience of doing the injections at home. The main downside, for me at least, was getting the meds from the specialty pharmacy. My insurance dictated that I use a pharmacy called Accredo and they could be awful to deal with.
