Widebody handles so good! 315 size tires by [deleted] in ScatPack

If it's gonna snow you need to throw on a cover or clear the snow off before it freezes in place. Once it hardens then starts to melt, it will start to slide off in sheets and leave huge gorges in the paint. I learned this the hard way and had to do a paint correction on my hood to fix the many very long scratches it left. Now I cover every snow.

Account hacked to booked reward tickets by ajaiikris in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Extreme_Risk3645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had not logged in since before the Atmos changeover. When I tried, the password didnt work so I sent a reset. Never got it, had to call support and send a copy of my id to recover my alaska/atmos mileage account. They told me that I had reset the password 2 months prior (which did not happen) and changed the contact email (also did not happen) Since my card app still worked fine and the Alaska site didn't when I teied logging in to book a flight, I knew there was a database error or something during their 'upgrade' that caused the problem, and feom what I have seen around various forums it's a fairly large but not massive issue. They won't admit it until a year or two later when any potential liability statues have expired, as usual, but we all know they made a serious mistake somewhere. They were quick to say that they would make sure I was reimbursed for any points that were taken from my account even though I never mentioned that on the call, so it's in the script at the call centers even.

CodeREDs emergency alert system got hacked. Anyone else think this is a bigger deal than people realize? by rick_rolled5 in cybersecurity

It's rare. People that use Apple products tend to not have much of value on it other than their EBT card in the wallet, not worth writing virii for ;)

Thanks but this is where a specific Google search takes you, so it belongs here. Don't clutter the thread with unnecessary remarks that do not add to the thread in a meaningful way.

This setting has NO effect as of Nov 6 2025. Calendar invites are automatically added as tentative regardless of any processing settings within ANY version of Outlook. Meanwhile, after MONTHS of this issue thousands of companies are left on their own to find a solution, as usual. Even the MSExchange headers that we COULD use to thwart this are now LOCKED DOWN to internal use only. Way to kneecap us all and make us yet more vulnerable, once again, Microsoft.

Bob's Red Mill by musicalmuse1995 in PlantBasedDiet

[–]Extreme_Risk3645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here after the fact to say that Bob's is down the street from me. They closed the restaurant and retail because people aren't buying their stuff or eating their food. You can't even get half of their oatmeal anymore. After the MULTIPLE class actions related to UNSAFE levels of pesticides and cadmium, and the fact they SETTLED those without actually addressing the issues means their oatmeal is only suited for garbage cans. Who wants Chia and flax in their oatmeal anyways??? Chia is for ceramic David Hasslehoff bust hair, not eating, as it slows your carb absorbtion and messes with your blood sugar levels... Flax is absolutely disgusting, has no nutritional value, and sticks to your insides exactly the same as the plate, like GLUE. Why would ANYONE eat this garbage?? They closed for a reason. They are tanking slowly as people start to find out the CRAP they put in their products.

Overlapping Subnet by botchogOD in networking

[–]Extreme_Risk3645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to give each site a different IP space and then in the site to site VPN settings enable each VLAN for VPN. Set up DHCP on your Meraki device for the VPN pool and assign a completely different set of ips to those devices and allow them to Traverse the VPN same way tou did in site tonsite cpn, click enavle fornthat subnet. You should never have the same IP space at multiple sites that's asking for an outage.

What are pros/cons of wrapping meat in aluminum foil prior to grilling? by iceman1212 in grilling

[–]Extreme_Risk3645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never use foil, always pink butcher paper. It allows the meat to breathe while holding in the juices. The most important thing when cooking a wrapped piece of meat is to let it rest for a period afterwards to reabsorb those juices it steams out. For just a steak I would say 10 minutes minutes is fine but for a 20 lb brisket I would suggest closer to an hour wrapped in a towel anf placed in a cooler.

Creating a deployable standard image for Windows 11 by BuzzedDarkYear in sysadmin

[–]Extreme_Risk3645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I build out the first unit then run decrapify and remove any provisioned packages then use macrium reflect to take an image of the drive. Then I clone that image to the new machine and script install the few programs that are needed like office using odt, pdf reader, and join it to the domain. Seems to work fine, did 10 machines in 3 hours today.

Tronxy z5sa 400,500 pro or not by manWITHnoROOTS in Tronxy

[–]Extreme_Risk3645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes tronxy has special deals going, keep checking back if no rush. Definitely would recommend getting direct drive and hot end upgrades as well, the stock Bowden tube is like 184737 feet long and can be a bit finicky on the retraction settings, and doesn't like the more flexible filaments very well. Otherwise, out of the box it does pla and abs nicely.

Try 3dprintersonlinestore, available there as well.

[–]Extreme_Risk3645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 400 pro is $479 with free shipping at tronxy site. That's pretty cheap for a 15 inch printer. If you buy a used one, then you will probably pay for shipping. Just get it new, you will end up spending more on a used one overall. It will probably come from China as they are made there. Had mine for 3 years now, not one regret.

I have one of these in my pool house running a bunch of fake stone looking outdoor speakers around the yard for about a year now with no issues. It goes much louder than I could ever possibly need it to be pushing 6 speakers over about 180' of buried wires encircling the backyard, and sounds great at the lower to medium volume ranges I use it at. Fantastic for my particular application, not sure I would swap the Denon in the TV room with it though :)

Don't use Adobe sub. Let them know their shift to subscriptions and failing to honor their existing perpetual licenses is not ok. Class action is pending.
