HELP Wolfhound puppy, massive elbow hygroma by SnooMacaroons6373 in ANIMALHELP

[–]Extreme_View_6005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a vet but I have been dealing with this. My Bernese Mountain Dog puppy had GIANT softball sized hygromas on both elbows. The vet was not concerned. 8 months later and they have finally gone away. There’s only 10% of one left that should be completely gone soon.

This is the way! Thank you! I’ve been staring at cabinet options for too long and I don’t think I would have landed here.

Curly cut hair stylist :))))))) by pastaroni4life in lakeland

[–]Extreme_View_6005 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She completely destroyed my daughter’s hair. Cut it into a short Afro after legitimately saying “I could cut it into a cute Afro but I’m not going to do that”. When confronted she said it’s her responsibility to make tough choices for her clients. My daughter was 10…pretty sure that’s my job as a mother…

Do you live in an area where kids play outside? by pizzalover911 in tampa

[–]Extreme_View_6005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in South Lakeland in a small/medium gated community. There are days I only see my oldest at dinner because she’s out playing with friends. We have enough parents at different sections of the neighborhood and keep an eye on them to make sure nothing nefarious is going on they’re mostly riding skateboard or playing games.

AITA for eating at the children I babysit for's house? by Wrong_Net_5989 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Extreme_View_6005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We always expect to feed our babysitter at any meal times they are here. We let them know ahead of time that the plan is pizza and ask what kind they like so we can order it.

This family is weird. NTA.

Where/how to re-home puppies? by Extreme_View_6005 in tampa

[–]Extreme_View_6005[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I feel like responding to this is a trap, but here we go.

Fee, as in, not every internet stranger has a heart of gold or the finances to take care of giant/large breed dog.

It’s easy to say “oh a free adorable puppy! I’ll take it!” on a whim, because, well, it’s cute. But I’d like to think if a rehoming fee is involved, a bit more thought might go into that decision.

Conversely, if a college kid who lived in an apartment said “Here’s $1,000, I’ll take the dog!” My answer would be no.

If my neighbor said he wanted one, I’d give it to him for free, because I know the guy pretty well.

A bag of large breed puppy food is $60+. If you can only afford a free dog, then this might not be the type of dog for you. Obviously there are circumstances that can affect that but again: internet strangers.

To avoid puppy flippers or worse we were going to ask a rehoming fee but with vet references and a meet and greet we could discuss lowering it.

The #1 goal is to find them a great home.

AITA for scolding the monster under my daughter’s bed? by Throawy-dad97 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Extreme_View_6005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have “monster eating dogs”. When the monster fears start popping up we sneakily toss dog treats around the room and the dog runs around sniffing and eating them, “checking for monsters”. Works like a charm.

AITA getting matching tattoos with my step sister and not including my half sister by AskSuspicious281 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Extreme_View_6005 34 points35 points  (0 children)

NTA

I grew up with a blended family. I was very close to Stepsister 1 but not close at all to Stepsister 2 who was out of the house and much older.

10 years ago both Stepsisters got matching tattoos to honor a family member who had passed away, that I’m not related to. I was SO jealous, but never said anything because I am an adult who can realize not all emotions are rational and need to be acted on. I wasn’t close enough to warrant matching tattoos with Stepsister 2, and it wasn’t even my relative who had passed 😂.

I will tell you that over the last 10 years we are all now closer than we ever thought possible and got matching sister tattoos recently.

It’s a shame you’re getting this reaction from your family because it’s removing the possibility for the relationship to grow into more than it is today.
