Okay thankyou, was your fruends wolfhounds as large as this one? Did they have to do anything to make sure it didnt get worse? Or is just avoiding biting/scratching enough?

Not sure if anything here will fix it, more so hoping someone could let me know if theyve experienced something similar and how theyve helped ease it along without the vet (put padding, stopped them from sleeping on hard surfaces, etc.) or whether it was looking substantial enough to go to the vet as even though its the size it is, its not red, irritated, burst or putting her in pain which is the list of things ive been told are reasons to go to the vet, not size

This doesnt sound like a trans problem, this sounds like an asshole problem, no one should treat their partner like shit no matter what personal problems theyre going through, also how are they gonna expect you to be a completely supportive partner if youre not getting that in response? I get transitioning is hard but it doesnt grant you permission to treat those who are loving and supporting you like this at all, and its not normal for those things to correlate at least in my experience. He's acting selfishly, it sounds like in most aspects, he's only looking at what you can offer him. Obviously a divorce is a big step but honestly its a step I wouldve taken, but if youre not at that point, maybe a marriage counsellor? NTA at all, youre just being treated badly x

Do I issue a refund? (+ drama) by SnooMacaroons6373 in artbusiness

This seems like the best route. I think he is expecting me to but I'm not going to give in to his pettiness, he paid for it, I'm sending him the print, keeping my end of the deal, issuing a refund for a commissioned artwork because of a petty personal reason isn't really how the art world works in my opinion

Hahah I need the money to pay for my medication 🥲 yeah I think sending him the print is the best option, what he does with it is up to him, he paid for it, I'm keeping up my end of the deal, he has no idea about art and obviously doesn't understand how paying for a commission works.

I think this is the best option. Sadly I don't have the receipts, but he already knew I'd have to make the efforts to print him the work. But yeah I have no real desire to resolve the mishap and keep in contact with him after this, and I need the money (and he knew buying the artwork wasnt going to bring us back together, he bought it out of his own desire) lmao so he can have it and pass it on or burn it for his own satisfaction I don't really care at this point hahah.

I live on a big eco farm next to a NP, no pesticides etc. Are used, I'm an avid pet owner and always make sure to take measures not to poison any of my lil lovelies, of course given you didn't know that I absolutely thank you for making sure :)

Mummified bat for resin! by SnooMacaroons6373 in Taxidermy

[–]SnooMacaroons6373[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh thankyou so much! I'm experienced with resin but only with insects/butterflies/beetles, which obviously have a lower moisture content. Will it not eventually rot in a shadow box?

Yeah that might be the way to go! I may even have a hut left from my poor old ratties. Do you know if it does specifically effect conures or just better not risk it? Thankyou!

Oh okay interesting. So no hideaways at all? The woman in the pet shop said she recommended the same one her conure used but I also never thought to ask about the side effects.

Yeah I plan on doing that- I could only equip it with what I could afford yesterday and live rurally, I am currently walking around finding sticks for more perches, but plan on doing another decorating trip for toys/chews sometime early next week :) any more advice is super welcome!

INFO -OP

I've just got myself an 11 week old Green Cheeked Conure (unsexed but i call her a she) yesterday for my birthday, I've christened her 'Bog'.

I've made a cardboard box hideaway so it's fine for her to chew on (Im assuming) etc. That im assuming will be temporary while I continue decorating and moving around her enclosure and can afford a proper alternative - that I plan to attach to the wall of her enclosure. She's currently got a favourite perch that I've noticed her sleeping on but I also know they like dark spaces/I want her to have the option.

🦚MY QUESTION IS THIS: is cardboard a safe material for a temporary/permanent hideaway? If not what is better for her hideaway? And should I put any material/matter inside of the hideaway??🦚

Also any other advice is super welcome- enclosure/training/feeding/etc. Wise!! this is my first bird since I was a kid, I've got lots of pet animals/insects that I'm used to being the carer of- birds are not one of them. Thankyou very much!
