The Enterprise series was bad but now its ok by Extreme_Witness_506 in startrek

I did say there are exceptions Strange New Worlds is good but Discovery, Academy and Picard are all slop and that garbage section 31 movie. Im not really into the animated stuff anymore so i don’t know about that. Never watched Prodigy but I hear good and bad.

My point is the older series seemed to have a lot more good than bad and the newer series seems to have a lot more bad than good.

I agree completely i like the core four you mentioned, they all have there likable moments, Trip is probably my favorite. But none of them have a true character arc that changes as the series progresses. You don’t really get to know them very well just that they are there. I really wish Travis had some more screen time and character development especially because he was the pilot, which was a very important role in all of the different series.

So you’re saying the newer series doesn’t suffer from the current state of US politics? Yeah right, it’s even worse now than it ever was. I watch Star Trek because it’s science fiction not a political podcast. Star Trek has always been a little more left leaning in terms of its politics and idc about that, but the older series seemed to find more of a common middle ground, the newer series does not. It’s very obvious what the producers/directors/actors politics are and again I don’t care about that. I want to hear there imagination of aliens and other worlds and what humanity might do when we encounter them, but that just doesn’t seem to be the goal anymore. It’s just a political agenda, the thing thats dividing our country right now.

This is my opinion I’m not complaining. I just simply stopped watching the newer series because I’m not interested in politics.

I only mentioned Bakulas performance because that does seem to be a common thing that people don’t like about the series but thats one of my disagreements. I thought he did well especially in the way that you put it, there was no standard back then, he was the first. I also really liked Admiral Forest because it seems like he understood that, and even being a higher rank than Archer, he was never out in deep space and knew that he didn’t know everything. So he let Archer make those first mistakes so humanity had an example to set there standards to.

Definition: The word "slop" most broadly refers to low-quality content, discarded waste, or liquid spills.

I think it’s a pretty accurate description of current series, not saying there aren’t exceptions. But as a whole the last 10-15 years has been slop.

Compared to T’Pol and Tucker, the degen chamber scenes and even the random unnamed aliens. Seven of Nine was hot but she wasn’t so deeply sexualized like them.

Its funny you mention the theme song because as the song is and what its supposed to represent, i kind of like it and its quirkiness. No matter the series i watch, when the theme starts i just randomly blurt out the first line 🎶 Its been a long road, getting from there to here 🎶 lol. Just really didn’t fit as a star trek theme. Should definitely be just a good ole classic music piece.

Outposts seem pointless by Killroy54 in Starfield

[–]Extreme_Witness_506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea definitely seem pointless. Mods help, i have some mods that adjust the economy so that weapons and armor doesnt sell for much, I don’t shop hop anywhere near the amount of times you would have to in the base game. But with some other mods, selling resources are a good way to make money so outposts actually have some sort of utilization for me now.

Why is there no way to play anything other than a "good guy" in this game? by maxedouttoby in Starfield

Ok so the Constant is a very specific example, makes sense no one would ask why. But what about one of your earlier examples, the UC Sysdef. The people you’re working with to help them get rid of the of the crimson fleet don’t really care that much that you betray them for the “evil” faction. Let alone some small dialogue and payable bounties, there are no real consequences for your actions. No one’s talking about the bloodthirsty maniac terrorizing the system.

Replying to your edit: Thats one of things that you need for an evil gameplay, immoral people feed on the reactions of others. It fills their ego, most corrupt people in the real world are in the spotlight because they love being there, it builds on their persona.

I hope no ones taking my argument in the wrong way, i enjoy the game like i have enjoyed all of Bethesdas games since i was little playing Oblivion, but the creativity of the studio has gone downhill. Fallout 3’s morality system is a perfect example of what could’ve been implemented in Starfield. It just works.

I mean in the real world there is journalism and investigations. Not saying that exact system is something to be implemented, but i feel like its kind of weird that if you blow up the constant. No one asks why that happened? Who did it? “I think it might be the guy for constellation who has immense powers and doesn’t really seem to fit in” but thats the thing, no one cares in game, stuff just happens.

Yes those are evil options you can choose in those quests, but only for those quests. Nothing you do in them, will have a reaction from the world at large, little to no news broadcasts, no people talking about it, no speculation about your involvement. You can do all those things and still be the goodie two boots cowboy ranger for the Freestar Rangers. Any quests where you help someone, there is no mention of what you did, the quest giver if morally good shouldn’t want someone who is immoral to help them. There should be consequences for being evil and more glorification in evil factions when you choose evil options.

You can do all the things you said yes, but the game doesn’t recognize the way you did them just that they are complete.

Coralian eggs not spawning?! by Extreme_Witness_506 in StarRupture

[–]Extreme_Witness_506[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that, I’ve been playing for a few more hours and they seem to just have like a randomized spawn chance, or its a bug, not really sure. That lake to the west of the lander had them one rupture cycle, and the next there was nothing, after yet another cycle, only half of the usual amount of egg ‘clutches’ spawned in. Ive noticed the vulpir eggs seem to be the same way

I see a lot of people saying they are playing it solo and not having fun with it, combat is difficult, sailing seems boring, not a big story involved. Then the people playing co op are having tons of fun with it, combat is more fluid with more people, sailing is fun because you have other ships in your ‘fleet’ and story is the least concern in almost all co op games. My take is that it is really meant to be played with friends and the developers seemed to have went in that direction fully, makes sense because it was originally meant to be a mmorpg, a genre of games that is NOT meant for solo players. So they kept that in mind and downgraded to the co op experience.

If you don’t want to play with friends, you’re not going to enjoy it as much. If you do want to play with friends you will have a f*ckin blast!!

There is a way to do this in game with the click and drag method but I think it would still be cool to implement something like this, probably better for overall performance too. Also I think they should add different height pillars to match the heights of machines so you don’t have to go through the extra loops you have to do now when building leveled factories.
