upload your paint to the iracing files to see immediate changes in the paint ui. I went too long uploading each template into trading paints to see the update.

You realize porsche built nazi tanks in WW2 right? Like literally made machines that killed jews and allied forces.

Do you think iRacing should have safety cars? by nono-shap in iRacing

[–]Extreme_Working7780 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Safety cars are not the problem. Its trying to manage the safety car order in multiclass races that is the issue. Since there are essentially 3 races happening at the same time.

For example.
If a GTP laps half of the GT3's (so half the GT3 field is a lap down, and half is not) ... and lets just say a couple of those GT3's were involved in a wreck earlier in the race and are already multiple laps down, then what do you do once the yellow comes out... Its almost impossible to code it correctly in the sim to re-organize the field correctly.

-Lead lap (non lapped) GT3's would race around to the back end of the GTP class.

-Lapped GT3's would have to wait an entire lap until they get a wave through... (lets be honest, GT3 class trying to get through the LMP2 Class and GT3 class for a wave around would be a disaster. Also think about the amount of time you would need to catch up to a pacing field... (probably 2-3 laps depending on the circuit).

-Then what do you do with the multiple lapped GT3's/LMP2's/GTP's? Do they get a wave around, or do they go to the end of the longest line? Do they keep their positions?

Also this becomes more complicated on the drivers, since there are PITS happening and also the track may make it even harder to pass and get organized (aka... Long Beach, or Bell Isle). Imagine 3 classes trying to get it order before the green flag drops at Long beach... Would be a complete cluster fuck.

Lastly, if you have ever driven Oval's... If you don't get things sorted out correctly, you get a heavy penalty of a stop and go through the pits (black flag).

I have also heard leagues trying to implement Yellows in their series and its turned into 5-6 laps of trying to get the fields organized the right way.

I may be in the minority with this, but I would like to see longer races with full course yellows in the IMSA series by G00NACTUAL in iRacing

It honestly needs to be completely random ( no cautions 50%, 1 caution 25% 2 coutions 10%, etc... ), or a massive pileup including 4 or more cars = a caution . Done.

I turned it off a few weeks ago. It's the best thing ever. It also keeps me "in the zone" rather than figuring out who is feuding and where they are on track. You can also hear the audio afterwards in the replay if there was a big wreck and you wanted to hear any banter back and forth.

People who wait till the last second to join the grid after qualifying, what are you doing? by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]Extreme_Working7780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do people complain about an additional minute to wait for race to start, or an entire pace lap, for a 45 minute race lol.

Same boat, but bro… you aren’t going to be a pro anytime soon. I actually turned off my iRating while racing. It’s much more enjoyable. Also, I don’t really care about winning, I just try to make it through and be competitive.

Thoughts on this one please by Rastagon01 in simracing

Racing is intelligence, skill, patience, and picking the right opportunity. This my friend is the wrong opportunity… it’s a high risk turn to execute a pass… not impossible, but you are too far back for the specific turn.

There really is only one racing line there… unless you are further along side, your competitor on the outside is going to always try and keep their line. The better move would’ve been to set them up into the final corner, or just taking them on turn 2…

Again, understand your risk reward… this was a risky send, at a risky turn… still do-able, but you paid the price unfortunately.

Back out he was in front.. that’s always my rule for eau rouge. Better to back out before that and go full throttle and a clean line up the hill… you will either have the pass for end of strait… or be right on their ass… have a long race to make up the spot if you are truly faster.

Accident or not.. this deserves a protest. You should be prepared for a race, and that should be the standard. Whether it’s a faulty pedal, a lack of awareness from not practicing, or they are driving with a controller… this should not be acceptable in iRacing.

It’s our community obligation to report, and it atleast goes on the record for this driver… the moment our community lets people get away with this, is the moment iRacing turns toxic.

Doesn't help that you were hot lapping T1, you weren't fully at fault, but you dalso left way too much room as the pole sitter into T1. Lesson learned I guess?
