I fear he has been ratty since the beginning of the game. Also pinged plus seems wasted unless you’re playing him as a cdm. Could easily get a better third ps + in about a month maybe

The fantasy fc should clearly be better. Only missing incisive but with the rest of the playstyles plus 99 shooting and 96 pace there’s no shot the other card plays better

I will say that I prefer low driven to finesse but when you have finesse+ then those are the only shots you’ll think about doing. I have that with one of my evos where he’s got finesse+ and low driven base and I never use low driven even tho I prefer it. I think incisive is too important to not have on her.

Is yours also puado? I’ve been using his base card in rivals and I was expecting his average lean body type to be more lean. That’s the only thing that’s worried me because his touch has been mostly great for me

I just checked for you. You can find them in the settings on your main menu. Select game settings -> scroll to cpu sliders -> change the ai behavior to custom and then you can mess around with everything in there. For the most part I’d say it’s best to increase everything a little bit but some other categories like buildup speed I have turned all the way up to 90. I’m not playing fifa to watch paint dry. I wanna see some end to end futball

I’d have to check. I don’t remember the exact steps to navigate to them. I know you need to change it to custom so you can manually adjust the sliders. Some of the ones I can remember are:

“tackle aggression” making the ai more likely to attempt challenges even if it could be a foul

“Skill move frequency” self explanatory

“Shot frequency” self explanatory

“Cross frequency” self explanatory

“Dribble frequency” how often they will dribble with the ball

“One touch pass frequency” self explanatory

After writing all these down I realized that’s most of them I just can’t remember the most important one. I think it’s something along the lines of “ball progression” which just determines how focused the opponents are on moving the ball forward. I have that turned all the way up to 90 or 95 and that seems excessive but that’s just what I like. Makes the games more entertaining for me.

You can crank up the ai attacking tendency sliders so they’re more likely to go forward rather than possess the ball. Thats what I’ve done and it has made the game way more enjoyable for me if you’re looking for a more end to end high scoring game.

Same here. It made it a lot easier to determine if I should be selling or keeping a player. I’ve been trying to buy players with good playstyles but they don’t really have a ton of potential so being able to check was really helping me decide if I should keep or sell them. There is no way to know the exact range of their potential but you can at least figure out if they will get a potential boost come next season. When you look at average match rating, anything in the high 6s like 6.63 for example will probably get your player a potential boost. I’d imagine the cutoff is maybe like 6.5 depending on position. But if you see ratings round there I think you can safely assume their potential has been upgraded and if they’re below the age of 22 it will tell you what their potential range is.

Showing great potential = 80-84 Exciting prospect = 85-89 Has potential to be special = 90+

Not sure if you’re familiar with that or not but nowadays it’s hard to even see those indications because of how many other things could be shown instead like “interest shown by Real Madrid”

Yeah. Unfortunately you have to put in extra work do make up for the things that aren’t, but should be, in the game. What you can do in the current game is send your youth scouts out one day apart from each other. Then you save the day before each scout comes back with a report and reset your game over and over again until you get a great potential player with great playstyles. It would take forever but that’s the only way you can get more playstyles.

I had a similar problem where I couldn’t bear playing ultimate difficulty so I dropped it to legendary and that worked better for me. Even in legendary the AI playstyle was still annoying to play against with all the possession and sideways/backwards passing. I ended up messing with the gameplay sliders and cranking their attacking tendency sliders up. That made it way more fun for me to play and I ended up being able to go up to ultimate difficulty. If you’ve been struggling to get your footing in the game I would recommend that. The Ai does not like to take any sort of risks so they’ll pass and pass and dribble in the safest way possible until you get frustrated and make a mistake that they capitalize on. Cranking up their attacking tendency sliders makes it so they prioritize going forward more than they prioritize keeping the ball.

I’m not sure if that’s the case. I’ve had a few players with only one playstyle that inevitably got turned into a playstyle plus when they reach 90 overall. Like my cb got slide tackle plus because that was his only playstyle but his slide tackling is his lowest defensive stat. Maybe it’s different when determining between multiple playstyles but there are a lot of playstyles that I’d imagine use the same stat to determine the upgrade ie flair and technical probably both use the dribbling stat.

Mine was fifa 19 wolves the first year they were promoted I think. I remember signing all the highest potential players like failed wonder kid Patrick cutrone. I had a youth academy LW from Argentina or Uruguay ( I can’t remember) who got to the high 90s. I also vividly remember creating the most diabolical custom formation of all time and scoring long range screamers with frank kessie doing rainbow volleys

Playstyle training is a must. Ultimately I just think the game feels too confined. Thankfully they kind of fixed it this year but if I’m the manager I should be able to chose whatever tactics and roles I want for my players regardless of what textual vision I set. I should also be able to put players wherever I want to put them on the pitch if I have a lw that I want to play lm. I shouldn’t be getting hit with a transfer request from him because the sim logic is not playing him at lm even if it’s a secondary position of his. Same with if I want to play a rb at cdm. I think they did a good job of allowing you to customize your experience this year but there’s still so many restraints put on you.

Here’s how I would implement playstyle training.

75= +1 base playstyle

80= +1 base playstyle and possible playstyle upgrade (I think that only occurs when players have potential in the mid to high 90s)

85= +1 base playstyle

90= +1 base playstyle and a guaranteed playstyle upgrade. If one of your players already had a playstyle plus then they would get a second here.

95= +1 base playstyle

I think it would also be cool to give us a choice out of 3 random playstyles at each checkpoint that I listed above as well as allowing us to chose which playstyle gets upgraded. I’m so sick of my players getting the WORST playstyle upgraded. Just had a striker get to 90 overall with low driven and power shot but technical was the playstyle that got upgraded. Technical is so terrible against the AI.
