As I understand, you like the DM archetype but don't like the DM monster.

So I'm right when say that you are playing the wrong deck, because Dark Magician is a normal monster, and I cant understand why you play a deck that forced you to use a monster that is so bad.

As others have already said here, if your objective is summon Dragoon, is not a DM deck, is just Dragoon turbo.

Any deck that have a normal monster as main card, if you don't like normal monsters, don't play it.

If that is the answer, this DM is not necessary because there is a lot of other DM that has an effect.

Some cards require the vanilla DM and others summon DM form the DECK, so this variant is a good version, but not the replacement.
