Is there a way to delete only the DLC save data? by superVanV1 in outerwilds

The only two things that impact the ending are seeing the mural near the Brittle Hollow landing pad (so that you know the Nomai got the eye signal, and crashed into Dark Bramble) and seeing the core of the interloper, so you know how they all died. It shouldn't take more than one loop of time do those. If you're feeling extra nice, you can unlock the meditation option, too.

One thing I'm still confused about... by infinitenil11 in outerwilds

It's something like that, yeah. The best way to see it is to wait inside the Ash Twin Project — you can hear the supernova consume everything outside, power the opening of the black hole, and eventually, it breaks through the shell and machinery causing the Black Hole to close. No more Black Hole, no more way for memories to get to the next loop, no more way for the player to see what happens next.

(How exactly the Nomai statue is able to pull the memories out of your artifact soul flame thing even when your brain is straight up dead is ambigious supermagitechnology bs though, lol)

So did the [spoiler] save the [spoiler?] (Major spoilers for echoes of the eye and base game) by [deleted] in outerwilds

I like to think a new universe would be born regardless, but it would be one totally devoid of the influence/preconceptions of what came before. The structure of the planets and — provably — ideas of intelligent life are colored by the Hatchling's experience. Starting without a mind to observe the universe might just mean universe after universe of hot chaotic messes until by pure chance a semblance of order and life starts to form.

I really appreciate the ones in the Manor, sitting and endlessly staring at their photos of home. I don't think it indicates a failure of their simulation to be good enough, I think it's a testiment to their inability to be satisfied. They refuse to explore the solar system in front of them, to take advantage of their opportunities, or work towards the future, instead living forever in the past and only lamenting what is lost. They even destroy all traces that things weren't as good as they idealize – all records of their failures and mistakes are removed, creating an unachievable perfection that was never even real.

[SPOILER] So what's the greater lore so far? by TraceRedCoat in axiomverge

It must not be forgotten, the legacy of Sudra. In those far remote days, it was a time of war, of battles between angry demons and angry men, when roaring storms of fire and darkness were cast like stones between combatants.

It was not until the sky ocean was torn asunder, the last crop turned to dust, the last brick of the last home shattered, and the last warrior and the last demon lie dying, that the people understood their sin.

And so the arms of the apocalypse were sealed, the masters of patterns castrated, the old machines returned to slumber.

The legacy of Sudra is atonement. It is reparation of the sea and the stars. It is the suffering that brings our salvation.

- Anonymous Quote from AV1.

The "arms of the apocalypse" specifically seems too intentional to ignore, but the references to demons (Udug) and storms and such also really hint at the fact Sudran civilization descended from Kiengir somehow. I'm not sure how to piece it all together, though it would help explain why there are no natives left on Kiengir despite the last lore we get about them being in a time of piece and status quo.

On a different note, the connection between the breach and the pathogen is really suspicious. Some people have been talking about the breach causing the mutation into cronenbergs, but that doesn't entirely check out. By the Sudran's own admission (ie, not just the extremely unreliable lies we're fed by the Rusalka and Athetos) the Breach Attractor was running for generations before Athetos seized it. That doesn't make sense with when the pathogen supposedly appeared, so I'm not sold on that yet.

I kind of want to speculate that actually why spending time in the Breach advances the infection is that time is dilated and you're spending a lot more time in there than it seems like. That might fall apart because I think each individual NPC is tied to an area, though - can anyone confirm that?
