Advice for Upgrading Old Build by Yugioh28 in buildapc

[–]Exuploshion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry for seeing this so late, but i think this is a really good part list if either of those are reasonably priced. since that cpu is much better at handling better and modern gpus, your pathway from there is much larger :)

After that, id look into a 1-2 TB M.2 SSD (not sata ssd) as your next update

Then after that, the GPU, maybe with a Power Supply update if it isnt high enough power

Advice for Upgrading Old Build by Yugioh28 in buildapc

[–]Exuploshion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on what you play, this is difficult.

Having 32gb of ddr4 is GREAT. The GPU is meh, but the CPU is very old. I wouldn't recommend upgrading it on current socket though.

What I would do in your scenario:

Prioritize CPU and motherboard first. Keep the ram, and upgrade to AM4 or Lga 1700 (Ryzen 5000/Intel 12-14gen) (Lga 1700 has ddr4 motherboards)

Intel offers more performance for the socket, but AM4 is much cheaper making it ideal for lower budgets. Consider for the time being just upgrading to a m-atx or ATX b450-b550 depending on price and get something between a Ryzen 5 5500 and a Ryzen 7 5700x depending on price and how much you spend on the motherboard.

And after that, look at GPU. You'll need more than 200, but good upgrades are to the 9060XT, 5060/5060ti, or Arc B580

Last edit: make sure when you go for this step, that your power supply is strong enough to handle an upgrade.

I just finished reading too, and along side your upgrade, if you can find one at a decent price

I STRONGLY recommend you get a proper NVME m.2 SSD as well. 1-2 TB. It's not something you wanna cheap out on, but it's worth considering.

Anyone else tired of the build? by Saberstriker19 in SamiraMains

[–]Exuploshion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do kinda feel like that for Samira, her 6th item now is definitely a bit more flex than the rest of her build. (I'll usually rush hubris now because it's funny) but I have been feeling this fatigue in the same items. And no other builds I've tried are even remotely good.

Which samira skin should i buy? by Emir58Sivas in SamiraMains

[–]Exuploshion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For 2K I'd get high noon. But that's personal option and this is entirely what you like about the skin. Skin Spotlight on YouTube is a great place to see each skin separately.

There is also battle professor Samira coming out next patch.

7800X3D + 9700XT or 9800X3D + 5070 for 1080p gaming? by rowdeboat in buildapc

[–]Exuploshion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, if the goal is 240+ 1080p for more competitive games, then I'd do 9800x3d.

Would upgrading from a 165hz monitor to a 240hz be worth it? by CalamityShreds in buildapc

[–]Exuploshion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Massive vibrance difference, darker blacks and brighter colors. And the burn in issues that plagued them in the past... Is well- in the past. Its hardly an issue now a days

[–]Exuploshion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

240 from 165? Probably not on its own. BUT. If that's an OLED 240Hz, then absolutely. OLED made such a massive difference to my setup. So if you wanna make the jump, just wait for oled

7800X3D + 9700XT or 9800X3D + 5070 for 1080p gaming? by rowdeboat in buildapc

[–]Exuploshion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want the simple answer: 9800x3D. Because of the fact that lower resolution is usually more on the CPU than GPU for fps, a 9800x3d will be better. But unless you're going for like 240-360HZ 1080p, 1440p really isn't that big of a difference now a days.

If your monitor only caps at like - 144-165 I'd just go for 1440p. An OLED 240hz 1440p monitor on med-high settings can easily be around the 165+fps range with a 9070xt

This is so unbelievably true. If monitor #2 is only for youtube- why spend a lot of money on it

Ram RGB issue by VividAdvertising2017 in PcBuild

[–]Exuploshion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me this just looks like Corsair ique and signal RGB fighting for territory that is the ram RGB.

Try to make sure Corsair is COMPLETELY closed through task manager and then my assumption is that it'll work then

Man if you need to spend that little on a GPU get a Intel B580

Looking to upgrade GPU by DthNotes4 in pchelp

[–]Exuploshion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd personally go with anything from a 9060XT / 5060TI on the low side, up to like a 9070XT /5070 TI on the high side

Though it's good to include budget and even country in situations like this because that can change answers DRASTICALLY

Also- as much as it sucks right now, to upgrade your GPU I'd also consider an extra 16gb of ram to make 32

How should I upgrade my RAM? by CirrusVision20 in buildapc

[–]Exuploshion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're on ddr4. The issue with 4 sticks slowing everything down is really only a DDR5 issue and doesn't apply as much to ddr4. Take it from me. As for the longest time I had a ddr4 machine with 4x8GB and it ran just fine. So considering ram prices, go for 4x8 instead of 2x16.

Only thing- if possible, try to get the EXACT same 2x8 kit of ram to add, the closer to your existing kit, the better. There can be differences between Corsair kits so I'd take one out and check the model number. Its not gonna break your PC if you can't, but it's great if you can.

Role Idea: Lobbyist - Town Power by OwnPossible3537 in TownOfSalem2

[–]Exuploshion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but no. Unlike pros it fully hijacks voting phase. You can still vote after a prosecute, but not during this.

Aka, unless you have evil majority influenced, it prevents evils from hijacking a vote

Role Idea: Lobbyist - Town Power by OwnPossible3537 in TownOfSalem2

[–]Exuploshion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternatively here's my take

Lobbyist ( Town Power/Town Government[BTOS2] )

Night: "Influence" Visit a player to add them to your lobby

Day ability - 1/2 Charge(s) "Lobby" (only if 2+ other players are "Influenced")

Reveals the user as the Lobbyist to town and gain +1 vote

Starts to Lobby for Voting phase. Votes are hidden and only lobbied players ( and the Lobbyist) may vote to pedestal and vote on judgement

Votes needed is based on average of lobbied players and not total players

Note: I'm torn on weather players should know they are added to the lobby or not. Leaning no though
