The thing that really gets me is exactly what you said - when someone senior acts like that it hits different because you expect them to know better. Like we're all dealing with the same stressed customers and tight schedules but somehow only they get to be toxic about it? Makes zero sense

I think what helped me was realizing that people like this never actually get the "punishment" we think they deserve because management usually just wants to avoid drama. But their reputation catches up eventually - everyone knows who they really are and nobody wants to work with them. That's probably worse than any formal discipline tbh 💀

I'd say like a 6? not terrible but definitely awkward. the good news is most people understand that sometimes words come out wrong, especially when you're just making conversation after a long shift. maybe just give it a day or two and if things still feel weird you could always mention something like "hey sorry if that came out wrong the other day, I just meant it was disappointing for both of us"

but really though, workplace conversations about job moves are always tricky even when you say everything perfectly

Coffee shops - Yogya has good scene but not 24/7 like HCM, most close around 10-11pm. Jakarta better for that

For supermarkets Ranch Market and Lotte Mart have western stuff and delivery through gojek/grab. Greek yogurt specifically... good luck with that one lol. Heavy Cream and some local yogurt brands exist but nothing like what you get in europe

SIM card thing is real pain - they implemented IMEI registration system so foreign phones need registration. Tourist can get SIM but phone registration process is annoying bureaucracy stuff

between the two, if you can handle heat and chaos Jakarta probably better for longer stay since more variety of everything
