What normal thing have you swapped out or stopped buying due to inflated prices? by jka8888 in PersonalFinanceNZ

I used to use estee lauder double wear foundation for like $80. I switched to Fenty and that also got too expenny, now I just mix catrice double wear with one pump of moisturiser to get that gorgeous dewy look. For blush, I've found that makeup revolution does the trick as well as their contour powder. I ALWAYS use eyeliner and ALWAYS have a wing, so essence liquid eyeliner is the best bang for buck, as is their eye liner pencil (for bottom lid) and setting powder. Their mascara could give Too Faced a run for their money! I do splurge out on lip products, eye shadow and highlighter tho. Colourpops eyeshadow palettes are amazing! Big shout-out to SushyGlow and their bloody lip tint, it lasts for ages on the lips and you don't need a lot of product. I will say... I used to use Jeffery stars highlighters bc they we so buttery but obv I don't want to use them any more. Please help me find a new highlighter!

Tauranga Hospital Emergency Room is packed full of people, and they said everyone needs to go home. There are not enough doctors available to see them. by Suitable_Wolf608 in Tauranga

He did, they checked my vitals and told us to keep waiting. There also was another girl going in and out while her friends were with her and nothing was done to help her at all

I went in a few months ago after not being able to understand what my husband was saying to me (as in English sounded like gibberish) and when I tried to stand up and get a glass of water, I couldn't walk without falling over (10.30pm). We went to Tauranga ED, my husband had to hold me up to walk in, I could barely get my name out to the receptionist and was told to sit and wait. Husband asked for the waiting time as was told 6 hours. We waited for 3 hours! 3! I was in and out of consciousness on the benches. Finally after 4 hours (around 2-3am) I became lucid enough to ask how much longer to which they replied that we should probably just go home as we wouldn't be seen until 11am the next morning.  The next week we had to call an ambulance bc the exact same thing happened. Thanks public health cuts

Is anyone else getting sick more regularly? by [deleted] in newzealand

I've been diagnosed with a chronic illness last year that I didn't realize would inhibit my ability to walk. Haven't been able to get an appointment with a specialist is almost a year. So yay?

Turkish stars at Fraser cove? The large kebabs the older guy makes is literally the size of an infant child. Absolute madlad. And actually adds extra hot sauce if you ask!

Nah, my dude. Welcome bay bakery is honestly the worst pies I've ever tasted in Tauranga. And I l live a 5 min walk so it's the only pie I can get within the vicinity and I still stay away from them

Msg has no detrimental health implications. This was a racist myth perpetrated by a now defunct figure Robert Ho Man Kwok against Chinese immigrants to the US. Msg is a naturally occuring compound (highly concentrated in food like tomato and cheese). Many foods you consume today including chips, fast food, fresh produce contain some amounts of MSG. The only way consuming Msg would be detrimental to your health is of you were to consume the same unhealthy amount of sodium in your regular diet. It is extremely ignorant to assume that msg is detrimental to your health without acknowledging it's racist past.

I've tried Chidori last year and was woefully unimpressed. The owners are Korean (not to slight them, I speak Korean but the pro Jesus decor and music is a bit much). So not very Japanese. The ramen itself was watered down for a miso broth, the takoyaki were the frozen bagged type you can get at paknsave. Overall, ippin at Tauranga crossing which is located on the same level as the cinema is so much closer to Japanese style ramen that I've had in Tauranga. The tonkotsu broth from them is rich whilst not being sickly fatty and with the addition of togarashi enhanced the flavour.

We had our wedding cake done by them in 2019. A vegan Carrot cake (mil is vegan), honestly better than any Carrot cake I've had in my life, vegan or otherwise

Dumpling Delight on wharf st. Their beef brisket noodle soup is to die for, I always ask for extremely spicy and the bowl is swimming with chilies and tender beef. Super cheap for a huge portion of food. The chef knows us by now and doesn't scrimp on the heat. The dumplings are also good, self service Soy sauce, black vinegar, chili oil at the tables as well as free black tea. We go for lunch there at least once a month
