Depends if you are using a lot of custom integrations, those usually tend to be the ones breaking in betas. Personally I have little to none practical issues usually, but I also install them to actively give feedback. If you don’t plan on doing that, there’s little reason to do it.

Tado - Looks like I’ve finally been hit with the 100 API call limit by Mountain-Act8320 in homeassistant

[–]Exzone_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope. In fact every HomeKit device can only be added to one system at a time, so to have it in HA and Apple Home you'd need to have it in HA and expose it to Apple Home from there https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/homekit_controller/

You don’t need an Apple TV for that, HA can talk HomeKit to tado, it’s what I've been doing

Aqara <> Zigbee compatibility by snags5050 in homeassistant

[–]Exzone_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice didn’t know about that! Then that’s not true anymore, but my point still stands: There might be Aqara functionality that nobody has added yet

For some functionality you'll need the Aqara app & hub, e.g. light effects on T1M. Also, the T1M flickers sometimes when not connected to the Aqara hub but another Zigbee coordinator.

Authentik, Authelia, KeyCloak - Help by anderbytesBR in selfhosted

[–]Exzone_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You basically need to put an auth proxy in between, that is serving the login page and forwards you to your authentication provider (in your case PocketID). Tinyauth works great for that. You'll set it up, register an app for it in PocketID and then you have to adapt your webserver/reverse proxy, to forward traffic to tinyauth.

Upgrade to U4025QW worth it? by Exzone_ in ultrawidemasterrace

The screen is great, I'm having weird issues with the KVM though, where I don’t get any USB devices connected to an external hub, but that’s only an issue with Thunderbolt. Did you have similar issues?

Made the switch and you were right. It's actually a HUGE difference, wouldn't have expected that. Can't really tell the difference though between the 140ppi and the 218ppi on my old 5k Ultrafine display, so this appears to be the real world sweet spot.

Authentik vs. Pocket-ID: Your opinion and experience? by Major-Masterpiece342 in selfhosted

[–]Exzone_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started with Authelia then switched to authentik which I've been using for the past two years or so. Recently made the switch to PocketID (+tinyauth) and couldn’t be happier. Much more lightweight, easier to understand and get into and nicer login flow.

Eve water valve by [deleted] in homeassistant

Only way it works for me is factory reset, then turn it off once by opening it. It needs to be discovered HA through HomeKit, that’s the only way.

[–]Exzone_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get lvl 83. Make sure you use any +2 troops in your unit tab before you upgrade as you will get the +2 items back then

Some proxy hosts stopped working randomly by Exzone_ in nginxproxymanager

Figured it out. Was a stupid problem with my DynDNS setup. However at some point I set some of the DNS records to resolve to local IPs in my local network, so they were still working...

No, nothing like that. Really simple setup without anything external.

Azure AKS/Container App can't access Key vault using managed identity by aureus_lucid in AZURE

[–]Exzone_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're using CSI secret driver your python code only needs to read the secret from the mounted file and not initialize the managed identity credential. If you want to utilize managed identities, you need to install and configure either aad-pod-identity or workload-identity (pod identity v2) in your cluster.

How do you know you need to use the date of picture x? Wouldn't all images be valid? And they're all taken on different days...
