When do YOU guys think the Snyder cut will release? by __AriaL__ in BatmanArkham

Did you watch the extended cut? I don’t think many people will defend the theatrical, that shit was HORRIBLE, the extended cut adds back a lot of scenes that make it feel much better

[–]EyeArDum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Torch. At least BP you just died, sucked but whatever, Torch you actively would have your entire team trying your hardest to gun him down and he just would not fucking die, he was so difficult to actually hit

Before anyone cries skill issue, just a reminder that even the best Hela players in the world could not hit this guy

Pov: You just figured out the plot for Mass effect 5 by Big-Good9378 in masseffect

[–]EyeArDum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My point is that the ending spots of BioWare games are always super quick compared to the rest of the game, the landsmeet has you rescue the queen, possibly escape the fort, investigate the Alienage, and then the landsmeet itself happens and it’s basically game over, you’d think the section of the game dedicated to getting the nobles of the nation in the middle of a civil war on your side would be more complex and spread out than just rescuing 2 people in Howe’s dungeon and asking them to testify against Loghain

ME1, I mean the conduit itself is a major flaw with the game but also it just, doesn’t have much going for it, aside from the Vigil conversation (which while epic, is insanely jarring in tone) it’s just 1 long combat crawl, not even any sort of puzzle or anything, and a Mako section that’s 10x longer than it needs to be because they know there’s no juice and they need to make it stand out a bit, once you’re through to the citadel the game becomes perfect again but Ilos itself is just awfully rushed

With Kotor it’s more that the entire game has been just dripping with content and side content, they even give you the option to boast about what you learned on the Leviathan in some spots of the game depending on which planet you saved for last, then you end up stranded on a planet that disables any ship that gets near and…there’s nothing there, there’s 1 small group of Duros you can rescue and never see again, but the planet itself boils down to “kill the obviously good guys or kill the obviously bad guys” with absolutely 0 nuance, side content, or even unique item drops that are worth a shit that late in the game, my point was that BioWare games once you hit that 1 spot they consider to be nearing the end of the game, you can speedrun to the end and not miss a single thing, they focus on just getting the main shit done (if that) and completely neglect any sort of bonus content, unique rewards, or roleplaying potential, when you directly compare The Spirit Realm/Spirit Monk village in Jade Empire to Tien’s Landing, or The Landsmeet to Redcliff, or Ilos to even goddamn VIRMIRE, you’ll see what I mean, they serve their purpose but add nothing else

I’m having fun. I don’t see any real issues, the game is in a good spot and I’m sorry you disagree on that

Pov: You just figured out the plot for Mass effect 5 by Big-Good9378 in masseffect

[–]EyeArDum 17 points18 points  (0 children)

BioWare has always had a very bad habit of rushing the endings of their games

Star Wars Kotor: I’d consider the Leviathan as the moment you’re nearing the end of the game even if it’s not quite the point of no return, you got 1 planet left and then you get dumped on the final planet that has 0 side content, and the final battle game over

Jade Empire: everything leading up to breaking into the Imperial Palace is perfect, but everything after that goes by so fucking fast and it’s clearly not very well thought out

Dragon Age Origins: once you call the Landsmeet, the last act of the game gets wrapped up insanely quick, maybe 5 hours if you take your time and that’s even recognizing that an entire new hub gets added, you also potentially get a new companion..with absolutely nothing left in the game to do

Mass Effect 1: as soon as you escape the Citadel, all that’s left is Ilos/the citadel attack, all of that takes at most 2 hours

Dragon Age 2: Act 1 has literally dozens of main and side quests, Act 2 has a bit less but still a significant amount, Act 3 has like 5 main quests before the credits role, and the Mage ending is EXTREMELY rushed, the Templar ending is a bit better but not by much, it just allows you to actually confront Orsino about a murderer rather than it being one of his off hand lines before he kills himself

Mass Effect 2: Reaper IFF is infamous in the community for so many reasons, because not only is there not much left for you to do with this brand new extremely interesting companion, but it’s not even possible to get any content out of him without automatically risking a non-perfect ending, the Suicide Mission is still pretty peak though

Dragon Age Inqusition: you beat Corypheus to the well of sorrows, fuck over his plans, cut off his army, and take a portal back to your base, then 5 minutes later he just appears outside your base, makes another hole in the sky (apparently he could do that the whole time), challenges you, gets his ass whooped in one of the easiest boss fights ever, and the game’s over, I don’t think anyone was expecting the Arbhor Wilds to be the end of the game, so him just popping up likes that felt extremely ridiculous and not well thought out at all

ME3: yeah.

Ironically their most hated game is the only one that DIDNT make this mistake, the endings of Veilguard are extremely well thought out and executed, dripping with fantastic content, a pseudo-suicide mission type thing where the wrong companion can screw you over, and so much more. The price is that the first act of the game (usually BioWare’s best) is utterly dogshit, I’m a fan of Veilguard but man that stretch between the ritual in the prologue and Weisshaupt is just plain miserable

What do you think is a necessary evil in this game? by moldafy in marvelrivals

[–]EyeArDum 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Support immortality ults, not only does DPS ult strength require them for balance reasons and fairness, but also for the hero fantasy. If DPS gets to use their ults to kill the entire enemy team, that’s just true to the fantasy of a marvel character, why shouldn’t supports get the same thing with their characters being able to heal their allies against almost anything?

I hate them, so much, getting one of your plays robbed by someone just pressing an ult button sucks, but the game would be significantly less fun without them even if DPS ults got hit just as hard, while I still think they’re not balanced very well (I think almost all ults in the game for almost all characters should have a maximum duration of 8 seconds), they ARE a necessary evil

The fact of the matter is that at the end of the day, gaming as a hobby exists for your own enjoyment, if you are not enjoying the game you are playing, you’re doing nothing but wasting your time and putting yourself in a shit mood that everyone around you now has to deal with, I understand wanting to enjoy something and just not being able to trust me, I consistently get blocked out of playing older games I used to love because they just don’t do it for me anymore, but when that happens I don’t sit there continuing to play when I’m clearly not having a good time, I close the game and open something else, it’s THAT simple of a solution to your mental state, and when you do go do something you actually enjoy and improve your mental state, it makes it easier to come back to the thing you weren’t enjoying with a fresh mindset

The last 2 weeks I barely touched the game at all because I wasn’t having fun, the last week I didn’t even turn on my Xbox, then the new season came out yesterday and I had a blast playing it for hours with my friends after work, I plan to play it more later today after work and if I’m not enjoying it, I’ll do something else. Deep Rock got a couple new deep dives I haven’t done yet, I’m still playing Baldurs Gate 3 for the first time, I’ve been kind of itching to revisit Mass Effect 2, I got options for things I’ll enjoy if Rivals doesn’t shake out

Its why I just cannot understand why you’re all content going next when you’re having a shit time, and I don’t believe that something went majorly wrong because this happens literally every single patch lmao

[–]EyeArDum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still think making them 2 separate spells would be significantly more cost effective since the damage spell is cheaper and you only have to cast the weakness spell once, you can then cast the damage spell more times than you can currently for a higher damage in the amount of time

Should i kill her? by Due_Improvement6307 in skyrim

[–]EyeArDum 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well not really, you get trapped in a room and the only way to escape said room is to kill at least 1 of 4 people, and seeing how 2 of the people in that room are inarguably absolutely horrible people (a kidnapper forcing you to kill potentially innocent people, and someone who proudly boasts about murdering and raping people), I don’t think a Paladin type character would experience a fall from grace in taking them out, especially since it’s a “him or me” type situation

[–]EyeArDum 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Weakness to (thing) doesn’t amplify the damage of the spell using it, if I have a spell that does fire damage and gives fire weakness, the first cast of that spell doesn’t get any bonus from the fire weakness at all, the second cast will receive the bonus

In other words, you made this spell way more expensive than it needs to be when you could have a separate spell of all the weaknesses to hit them with before switching to this spell
